"Our Refuge in the Storm"

“Our Refuge in the Storm”
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1 NASB

I cannot begin to thank God enough for His strength, love, and protection. While away this past week, I found myself in a very precarious situation—totally unexpected. Things could have went horribly wrong, but I trusted in my God. Especially when He was the One who opened this particular door for me to go through.
Both a figurative and literal storm took place, and I was caught in the eye of both. Yet, I did not fear, knowing in my heart and soul that I had a refuge in the storm…Jesus. I called upon the Lord and He not only heard me, He answered and sheltered me. And here I am; another beautiful Sunday, sharing Reflections, because I trusted my Refuge in the storm; which is what God desires of you to do, also.
I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Take refuge in the arms of God while going through the storms. Many storms will come in your lifetime. And God will keep you through each and every one when you trust Him, and allow Him to be your refuge.
Refuge: shelter or protection from danger, trouble, etc.: to take refuge from a storm. 2. A place of shelter, protection, or safety. 3. Anything to which one has recourse for.
There are a host of things we will have to face in our lifetime. Situations that will have us seeking shelter and understanding. This is a part of life’s journey and the world that we live in. Storms and situations will come. Trials and troubles will happen. Yet, through it all, we have a permanent refuge in God.
The Heavenly Father desires to be our covering in the storm. He wants to be our shelter from all danger; our protection. Sheltering us under His arms. Giving us that peace of mind to walk through any and all situations that we may face in our lifetime. We just have to learn to trust Him to keep us safe; especially when so many others have failed to do so.
Psalm 121:7 “The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul.”
Psalm 91:1 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.”
It is very easy to lose sight of the promises of God, or fail to recall all the many times the Lord has delivered us from certain situations, when you are faced with a brand new storm. Yet, God remains true. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. God will never abandon us. He will never leave us to be consumed or destroyed by the storms. Though the storms may continue to rage, we can find safety in the midst of the storm, in the arms of God.
At one time, I believed that the “eye” of the storm was the worst possible place one could be when it came to storms. I shared once before that, the eye of the storm is actually the safest place to be. As it turns out, in the eye of the storm there is peace and stillness, while everything around it is raging. It is in the eye of the storm that one is safest. God is the eye of your storm. His refuge is the safest place to be. He is your safety, your assurance, your shelter, your covering.
God will never allow a storm to destroy you, when you yield to Him and trust Him to lead you. Yes. I understand completely how difficult it may feel to trust God when everything seems to be going the opposite of what you expected. I know about the uncertainty and the fear that can grip you. I identify with the struggle to let go completely, when you can barely look pass what is right in front of you. But that’s what faith is: trusting in something that your eyes cannot physically see.
No matter what it is you are facing today; no matter what it appears to be, or how devastating a storm you are in; know in your heart, and believe that God is your best refuge in the storm. He desires to be your protector, your shelter, your deliverer. He will not allow the storms of this life to destroy you. He may not stop certain storms, because there is something to be gained and learned from each one—but He will be with you through every last one, protecting you and providing for you through it all.
I thank God for the wisdom I gained this past week—for the lessons learned. As I stood there, drenched from the downpour, and my heart navigating the inner storm; I learned just how strong my personal resolve is. The enemy couldn’t win. Not when God had already declared me victorious. I anchored myself to the Father—finding my place in the eye of the storm.
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity will have permanent rest in your lives. Though the storms of life can seem to rage out of control, we have a place of refuge in the Lord. He is our Anchor, who we can remain tethered to. With the certainty we will have weathered the storm, gaining a heart of strength and wisdom as never before. You are blessed. Reflections4Life: "Remember the Laughter"

“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.” Job 8:21

There is so much going on in our lives. Things that we have no control over. There are situations all around us that can tear at our soul and weigh our spirit down. The last thing on our mind, or in our thoughts is to laugh. But, that is exactly what God desires us to do: Take some time to laugh.  Remember the times of laughter; for it will be your comfort.
 I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Allow the joy of the Lord to fill your soul and strengthen you. Though things may seem heavy and that there may be nothing to laugh about; take time to laugh. Take the time to open up your heart and find delight in at least one thing, and let the healing begin. Remind yourself of those things that brought merriment to your heart.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to laugh. It may feel as though there is nothing in your life to feel joy over or to laugh about. But there is, beloved. Even when we cannot see it, there is something to smile about. There is something to have joy over. And there is always something to laugh about. It’s just how you look at things.
We can take joy in the Lord. We can take joy in His promises. We can take joy in the fact that we are alive. We can take joy in the fact that there is a God, and He cares for us. Whether we understand the situations or circumstances we face, we can still have joy. We can smile with confidence that God has worked all things out concerning us. That, God will never leave us or forsake us, but will be right there to see us through. That is something to be joyful about. And when you are filled with joy, you will find that there are things that will bring laughter to your soul.
Remember the times in your when you laughed. Remember those days when your heart was light. Recall the people and things that brought laughter to your heart and soul. I definitely think there is a special place for comedians. For those who can bring laughter in the midst of sorrow and pain.
If you cannot think of a thing to laugh about, then I have a suggestion for you: Laugh at Satan! Yes. I said it! Laugh at the devil. Laugh at his lies and his attempts to defeat you when God has already declared you the winner. Laugh at his attempts to sidetrack you when you have fully yielded to Holy Spirit and are walking in the victory. Laugh at his tricky words and acts of deceits because you know that it is not you answering the door, but Jesus Himself. And when the enemy wants to remind you about your past, and discourage you about your future; then boldly remind him of his certain fate, as written in the book of Revelation. See how fast he stops laughing!
This is what I know, Beloveds; God is here for us and with us. There will always be situations in our life that will try to come and steal our joy and rob us of peace. There will be situations where there seems no plausible reason to laugh. However, we must learn how to hold on to the promises of God. We must learn to walk in the peace and rest of God, trusting Him to take care of what He said. We must teach ourselves to embrace laughter. To find those pleasant things in life and take joy in it.
For me, when someone I love passes, it is one of the most heart wrenching things, just as I know it would be with you. Yet, when I begin to think on the good of that loved one, and the times we shared together; I soon find myself laughing and remember the joy they brought into my life. I laugh at the memories, and embrace that joy and comfort that comes. Though my heart is heavy form their departure; it does not overshadow the love and laughter they brought to my life.
And beloved, this is what God wants us to remember: through all the pain and loss, remember the joy and happiness that occurs along the way. Smile at the good times. Cherish those times of laughter and joy. Because, in the end, it is those memories—of joy and laughter—that will bring you comfort and strength to move forward.
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Remember the times of laughter in your laugh. Draw upon those memories and allow it to bring comfort to your heart and soul. Take joy in the Lord and his promises. Don’t allow the lies and the voice of the enemy to overshadow the voice and promises of God in your life. Take joy in the Lord. And remember the laughter, always. It will be a source of strength. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "Walking Away"

Walking Away”
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us...” Hebrews 12:1 NASB

How many times have you promised that the next time would be different? Or, how many times have you told yourself that, if you had to, you would just walk away. That, you would have no problems letting go and doing what needs to be done. Sometimes it is far easier said than done. Yet, if we place our confidence in God and yield to Holy Spirit, though it may be hard, we will be able to do what is necessary to walk in the path that God has ordained.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and enlightenment for your heart, mind, and soul. May you yield completely to Holy Spirit as He continues to guide you on the path of righteousness, leading you to your expected blessings. Walking away may not be easy, but it may be the difference between living and dying.
Beloveds, allow me to take a moment and thank you today for your continued support and fellowship. Today, I celebrate seven years of writing Reflections. It has been a joy to minister and share and teach; to encourage and inspire...to be the vessel that God chooses to use. It has blessed my soul and enriched my life to have met so many loving people over the years. To, have connected with phenomenal and beautiful souls that have inspired me, encouraged me, and who pray for me. You have become my family. I don't know how long this particular assignment will last. But I do know that I will continue to write and encourage for as long as God leads.
Each Sunday I ask God what He desires for me to share. For the past seven years, 364 Sundays (to be exact) God has given me a word to share; fresh Manna from Heaven. Many, if not most, have been from my own personal experiences and walk with God. But most certainly, all have come from the inspiration of God. I don't know where we are heading, Beloveds. I don't exactly know how far the road will go with Reflections. But I do know: wherever the road goes, I will follow as long as God is leading. And I hope that you will continue to join me on this journey, as we grow and receive from the Lord. I pray God's continued blessings in your life. And that you will see the desires of your heart come to pass! I love you!
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is walk away. Whether it's from a relationship, a job, a habit, or a thing....walking away isn't easy but necessary; especially when God is telling you to walk away. There are times when we may find ourselves in a situation that is so toxic that, if we don't walk away, we may be destroyed. Though it may not be easy, it would be much harder to stay as your soul and spirit slowly die and there is no longer a you; just a shell of who you once were.
Why do we stick with things that are not good for us? Why do we continue to try and change a situation by doing what we did before, knowing it did not work? What's the saying—insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result? Yes. Not going to happen. In order for change to happen, we have to be obedient and do something different. Sometimes doing that which is most difficult.
It doesn't matter if the thing God desires us to walk away from is a relationship, a job, or a situation or place; obedience to God will not only stave you from sacrificing the blessings that God has waiting for you. It will stave you from heartache, pain, and even death. Walking away can very well save your life.
Many are in toxic relationships that the Father has told them to walk away from. Even family and friends have told them to walk away. And yet, they stay. Some stay until there is no more life in them; every hope, dream, aspiration...gone! They are no longer living, just existing. Why? Why would anyone stay in such toxicity? Perhaps because they have been systematically stripped of who they are, until they believe the lies of the enemy instead the truth of what God says.
It is very hard to believe the truth when you have been conditioned so long to believe a lie. Yet, with God, all things are possible. And when there is a sliver of hope, and people praying, there remains a chance for that person to still walk away and get the help they need before it's too late. Never give up on someone who may be in a toxic relationship. Though they may be operating out of fear; be there and make certain they know you will not abandon them.
Perhaps you are holding onto a job that God has told you to walk away from. Rest assure, if God is telling you to walk away, it is because He has something far greater for you. Many times we get comfortable in our lives, and become complacent. But what if your job no longer existed? What if the company shuts its doors? What would you do? You placed your security and trust in what you thought was stable, instead of placing your trust in God.
God does not tell us to give up something without having something far greater in store. So many of us miss out because we do not trust God completely. We haven't totally yielded to the Father and trust Him to lead us to where we need to be. When we truly let go and trust Him, that's when we will understand just how deep God's love flows for us.
Yes. Walking away is not the easiest thing to do. But it is necessary. It is vitally important to know when it is time to let go and walk away. We run the risk of forfeiting the security and the promises of God by hanging on long after God has said to let go.
Trust God to lead you; to catch you when you fall; to help pick you up; to guide you and lead you to a place He's ordained just for you. Walk away. The first steps are always hardest. However, think on what lies ahead—the promises and peace of God. With every step forward, you are that much closer to His promises.
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your life. Whatever it is that God is telling you to walk away from...do it. Walk away and trust God to lead you to the place in which He has already prepared for you. Trust Him. Do not hold onto something or someone because of fear or obligation. You will only come to regret and despise it or them. Release yourself, and walk away with the confidence that God has you covered. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Kill The Fear, Resurrect The Vision”
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 (NASB)
Scripture Contemplation: Proverbs 29; Jeremiah 29; Ezekiel 37; Habakkuk 2; 1 Peter 5...

Have you ever felt that, all you ever wanted may never come to pass? That, the dreams and visions you carried for so long are not going to happen? Or, that they died after much pain, suffering, trials, and hardships? Life's journey can throw some curve balls at us; a few of them hitting us and knocking us down. As a result some of us give up on our visions. We lose hope. We may even feel there is nothing more to do. Never give up. Not as long as you believe in the Father. He says, it's time to kill the fear and resurrect the vision.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Though you may have experienced disappointment in your life; delays in your dreams; do not lose hope. Have faith and know that whatever God has declared for your life will certainly come to pass. Allow God annihilate the fear and to resurrect the vision. Trust Him with your all.
In life we may have to start over several times before we get something right and achieve the success we desire and have envisioned. Too many give up to soon walking around with a defeated spirit, and a negative mindset. They become pessimistic about life and the circumstances surrounding them. What it really is, is fear. Fear has come in and replaced hope, slowly blocking out the vision; killing expectations and the vision that once gave life, determination and purpose to their lives.
Beloveds, I have been there. And it wasn't too long ago. Even as I write this Reflection this morning, I am pulling down strongholds and denouncing the lies of the enemy. There is a battle going on in my mind and body. Yet, because of my relationship with the Father, I have already been declared the winner. Even though the battle ensues, in my heart and spirit, I know that all that God has ordained for me shall come to pass. It doesn't matter what it appears to be. It doesn't matter what others say or think. What matters is what God has spoken, and what I truly believe in my heart and soul.
If one searches out the reasons for their struggle and the ensuing battle in their mind, they will find fear. Fear is one of the enemy's favorite weapons. The fear is real. And it can grip one so strongly until it suffocates their faith and snuffs out their vision.
Many know the well-known acronym for fear: False Evidence Appearing Real. Although one knows this, and understands the machinations of the enemy, many still will fall victim to fear's debilitating stronghold; allowing it to cripple them and kill the vision they've held and believed in for so long.
It is time to kill the fear once and for all, and resurrect the vision. The enemy's playtime is over! God has commissioned us to live an abundant life. To, carry out His will upon this earth. To, reach out to the lost, and to take care of those who are in need. It is time to live an abundant life, and have it be on earth as it is in heaven.
This cannot be done operating from a spirit of fear. And it cannot be accomplished by those who have lost hope. Without hope, faith is crippled. And without faith, the vision cannot and will not come to pass. For too long we have allowed the enemy to have reign over our thoughts and sneak his tentacles into our hearts where he has held a choke-hold, keeping us bound from living the life that God has ordained for us. I can attest to this. And enough is enough!
We need to remind ourselves daily of the authority that God has given us. We must learn to walk in the spirit. To, walk by faith and not by sight. Sometimes we slip, and we allow circumstances to scare us. But we must get a hold of ourselves, and have a made up and determined mind to do what God has said, and believe in what He has already declared and decreed concerning our lives.
Luke 10:18-20 The Message (MSG) Jesus said, “I know. I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky. See what I’ve given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that’s the agenda for rejoicing.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJ21) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
Habakkuk 2:2 (MSG) And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time”
Proverbs 29:18 (KJ21) “Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
God certainly does have a plan for our lives. I maintain that life is a journey that is meant to be lived. And part of that living entails ups and downs, triumphs and defeat, happiness and mourning, peace and war. Throughout our life's journey we will experience many things. We will encounter a host of things we may feel we will never make it through. However, when you know God; when you are in an intimate relationship with the Father, the journey itself may not become any easier, but it becomes easier to bear. The encounters upon the journey will no longer destroy you, but strengthen you and add to your resolve, catapulting you to the place where God has ordained.
The journey of our lives will be filled with many lessons and tests to which God has all the answers, and will reveal to you if you do not give up or succumb to the vile tactics of the enemy. There will be pitfalls and ditches, and storms. There will be unexpected detours and some less than savory people. But there will also be love, kindness and mercy. There will be good people, sunshine, and rest along the way. It is just a matter of following God's instructions, holding onto faith, and keeping the vision at the forefront. Maintain focus. Fear will appear. But you must know and remember, that God has already given you power over fear, and the ability to overcome every obstacle, and His name is, Jesus. With Him, you can never lose.
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. All fear is defeated when you declare and decree what God has spoken over you. It's time for every fear to die, so that your vision may be resurrected. God made you a promise, now you must choose to believe it and walk in it. Forget about what things look like, and hold onto what the Father has said. The word of God trumps everything else. No matter what it may appear to be. God cannot lie. Believe. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "GONE"

“Gone”
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”2 Samuel 22:31
Scripture Contemplation: Deuteronomy 28; 2 Kings 18; Proverbs 3; Matthew 27:43; 1 Timothy 4…
What would you do if everyone you loved, everything you had was gone? No warning. No time to prepare. Just gone? Many of us have become lulled by a sense of security; not because we trust in God, or believe that He can take care of us. No. We are lulled by the comfort many of us enjoy. We take security in the things we have and the people we know.
But what if? What if you had none of those things, and you found yourself in the midst of a war every day of your life, not knowing if today was going to be your last day? What would you do? Who would you trust? And could you truly trust in God to take care of you, although everything is crumbling around you?
I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. In a moment’s time, everything we know, believe, and love can change. Everything can be gone. May you learn to trust in God, and allow Him to anchor you, and receive His instructions on what it means to walk in total peace, even when around you ensues chaos.
All around us people are suffering. They are losing someone they love. Families are being torn apart. Children are dying. I could literally go on. And yet, for so many of us, we take for granted the peace and safety that we have. We seldom think about the, what if’s.
I watched several documentaries this past week, and also read some articles while researching about the effects of war and also the effects of gun violence on our youth and families. Perhaps some may think that this is not something you would like to hear on a Sunday? Or, something that you do not care to reflect upon at this time? Then when is a good time? When is a good time to hear what the Father has to say to you? When is it a good time to see what the Father wants you to see?
I know from experience how things can change within a twenty four hour period. In fact, a twelve hour period. Death and tragedy know no time frame. They can come at any time. And before you know it, everything you love can be gone. The world you know is gone. The peace you have is gone. And what you believe can be gone as well.
If you believe in God, and have an intimate relationship with Him, and you are reading your scripture daily, then you know that God has warned us that such things as this would happen in our lifetime. It is inevitable. However, He has given us His word that He would be with us always. That, He would never leave us or forsake us. That, although everything that we know is gone; all has changed; He will not change. And in Him we can find and maintain a strong foundation, and a place to move forward in.
1 Timothy 4:10 “For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.”
I particularly love The Message Bible’s translation:
1 Timothy 4:6-10 “You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there, and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.”
I look at the thousands of lives taken in communities due to gun violence. Children killing children; making a sport of taking the life of someone who may have looked at them the wrong way. Or, people so heinous to take the life of a child just to make a parent suffer.
What do we say to the parents left behind to deal with the lost? What, as believers can we offer? We can offer God. We can offer our prayers. We can offer our silence and just be there. Sometimes, just being there for someone will be the comfort that they need to begin to heal.
Far too many of us sit in judgment; especially those of us who call ourselves believers. We are quick to pass judgment and cast someone off, rather than be who God has called us to be: loving unconditionally, kind, understanding, and faithful, concerned, non-judgmental, in partial, fair, and not pompous. We use our religion as a weapon, creating toxic relationships and pushing people away.
I’ve read the articles and watched the news concerning the continuing war between Israel and Gaza. It has been going on since 1948, when Israel became a Jewish state. My heart and prayers go out the people who have lost everything. And those who have lost their entire families. I cannot fathom what their hearts and minds must be going through, with the thought of death a constant in the hearts and minds of not only adults, but the children, as well.
How long would you fight for what you believed in? Too many of us have given up on God quicker than it takes for paint to dry when something in our lives does not go as planned. Yes. Pain is real. Tragedy is real. Life is real. But guess what? God is real, too. And His word, His promises are real also. And when all is said and done, and everything is gone, God will always remain.
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity will find permanent rest in your life. Life will throw us curve balls that can take the wind out us, and cause us to fall to our knees. Allow God to lead you. Things can and often will change without a notice. In our lifetime, we will suffer loss, but we do not have to do it alone, and we can get through it when our trust is in God. He is the One constant that will always remain. Trust him, and He will lead you in perfect peace. You are blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "Naked"

Naked”
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:13
Scripture Contemplation: Genesis 2; 3; Ezekiel 16; Romans 8; Hebrews 4; Revelation 3...
Just the thought of being naked before anyone use to terrify me. I am not much of an exhibitionist. And I definitely did not want anyone to see all my “bits & pieces”! I'm laughing at myself right now, so you can also! It's just something about exposing yourself that way. To have people seeing every part of you and making judgments. So not into that! Yet, the Father wants us to come before Him naked—baring our hearts and souls. Laying EVERYTHING at His feet—without shame—so that He may cover us.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source and encouragement for your heart, mind, and soul. May you have the courage to come before the Lord naked; baring your heart and soul to Him. God knows it all, but He desires for us to come willingly. To, lay our all—no matter how excruciating or embarrassing—lay it at His feet and trust Him to take care of us.
Everyday someone is making a judgment as we are exposing ourselves to the world; whether it is intentional or not. Some of us are over exposed—people know way too much about us. Whereas, the people that should know us well, know hardly anything at all.
Each time we open our mouths; every action we take—we are exposing something about who we are, or who we think we should be. Some expose themselves to gain attention. For whatever reason, there is a void in their lives and any kind of attention they can garner, whether it is positive or negative, is filling a void, but yet they still feel empty inside, and seek ways to fill it.
I give credit to my husband for opening this line of dialogue and inspiring today's Reflection about being “naked”. Our conversation, in short, was about being totally honest with one another. Sharing our heart and soul; baring our truths—good, bad, ugly, or indifferent—to one another without the fear of judgment or offense being taken. But, with the intent to bring healing, revelation, and an even stronger bond.
He brought up Adam and Even, and how in Genesis they were naked before one another, and before God without any thought or shame to their nakedness. In fact, they did not even know they were naked. They just were. They were being who God ordained them to be, and they were free. Then sin happened. And the first thing they did was to cover themselves. As if clothes could cover the darkness of our hearts, or the shame of our actions. Sin made them feel exposed, as it does to each and everyone us; causing us to want to hide, to cover up.
The Father desires for us to come before Him naked. He wants us to come before Him fully exposing what is in our hearts. Confessing to Him every thought, fear, plan, question, concern. No matter what it is, God wants to hear it. And He wants us to be free. Free to live the life that He has ordained for us, without the fear of thinking that God will not accept us or love us.
Yes. God already knows it all. The confession; the baring of our heart and soul is for us. It is for us to be free again, and to strip the enemy of any power he thinks he has over us. Coming naked before the Lord and confessing, baring every part of our heart and soul is not punishment or judgment or condemnation. It is to free us, and release any hold the enemy may have over us through guilt and shame.
Romans 8:1-2 (MSG) With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.
Romans 8:31-35 (MSG) So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture...
You have nothing to lose but everything to gain when you bare all to the Lord. There is nothing that God has already known or heard, and has not made provision for. We just have to trust and believe that what God has and what God will do is best for us—always.
The shame of their sinful actions caused Adam and Even to cover themselves. They were not so much covering their nakedness; but trying to cover their guilt and shame in having sinned against God. That's where many of us live today: in a cloak of sin and shame and also of guilt. We are afraid of someone exposing us, or seeing the truth about who we think we are, instead of knowing and believing who God says we are.
With God, we don't have to be ashamed of who are or what we did. He already knows and has made a way for us to be free and to change our lives in the process. We may feel remorse, and make confession, and ask for forgiveness, but we no longer have to feel condemned when we accept Christ into our lives.
Yes. There are always consequences for actions. That is the price of the actions that we take upon this earth. Yet, even in that, we can still be liberated in our hearts and minds by laying it all before the Lord, and being honest with ourselves, with God, and with those in our lives.
Nothing hidden every stays hidden. Lies always have a way of coming out. We can run from the truth for a while, but sooner or later it shows up, and wants payment in full. I always say and believe with my whole heart that I'd rather be told the truth and be hurt, than to find out a lie and be devastated. With truth, you can rebuild and there is healing. With a lie, there is no trust and broken promises and relationships.
Whatever it is that lies within your heart, and in the recesses of your mind, I implore you to bare it all before the Lord. Confess it to the Father and be free from the bondage and manipulation of the enemy. God desires for us to walk and live and truth, and to receive all that He has ordained.
I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Come naked before the Lord. Allow Him to cover you with His love and heal your wounds with His touch. Exposing yourself to the Lord will only bring you strength, healing, and deliverance from the lies, condemnation, and taunts of the enemy. When you tell the truth, there is nothing left for the enemy to use against you. You are free. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "Be Free"

Be Free”
Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.” Galatians 5:1 (MSG)

In as much as we experience in this life, we may often find ourselves feeling bound, trapped, overwhelmed, and seeking a way of escape. Yet, many of the things that bind us begins with the choices that we make. God desires for us to be free. Be free from every hindrance. Free from the heartaches. Free from every chain and yoke that keeps us from living the life He has ordained for us.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Be free from those things that have taken hold of your life. Let go of the things that God has been long telling you to release. May this be the week that you heed the voice of the Lord and let go; experiencing a freedom like never before.
Why do we hold onto things? Why do we hold on to grudges? Unforgiveness? Bitterness? Anger? Why do we allow ourselves to be bound with the cares of this world and not relish in the freedom that God has granted us to live in each and every day? I gather, old habits die hard.
It's time for you to live a life that is free. The Father wants you to be free; to walk in the freedom that He has already granted you. Free from the pain and hurt of your past. Free from past mistakes and failure. He desires for you to live a life that is full of love and peace, with a renewed mind and strengthened heart. There is no joy or peace in continually looking backwards. Only heartache, pain, and regrets. In order to move forward we must learn to let go.
Isaiah 61:2-4 (MSG) “...He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of his grace— a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies— and to comfort all who mourn, To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit.”
So many of us have been fighting ourselves. We have been fighting the goodness of God in our lives because we are having a difficult time forgiving ourselves for the mistakes we have made; for the sometime poor choices we make, and the failures. We have not allowed ourselves to move forward in our lives because we are too busy condemning ourselves where God has already forgiven us and made a way of escape.
We cannot see the way of escape or walk in forgiveness, because we have and are spending too much time visiting the past, beating up on ourselves, and allowing the enemy to run rip-shod through our lives and our mental. We have allowed the enemy a place within our thoughts, our minds, without bothering to kick him out and denounce his lies. Instead, we have meditated on what he has said; allowed him to use our past and failures against us, until our mind is befuddled, and our hearts grieved, and we are unable to see the plan of God or accept what He says is ours. It is time to put the enemy in his place. To use the authority that God has give us.
God says...
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”
Roman 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”
We are free, Beloveds. Free in Jesus, with every power and authority given to us by the Father to live a life that is free from those things in our past. To, live a life that does not have to be overwhelmed by our daily activities and commitments. We can be free in every area of our lives when we put the Father first, and seek His counsel in all that we do. What's the saying so many have adopted? No God, no peace. Know God, know peace. It is that simple.
Use what the Father has given you to remind the enemy that he has already been defeated. That, he lost a long time ago when Christ was victorious on the Cross and rose again, and ascended. Renew your mind daily. Think on the things of Christ. Pull down every stronghold, and cast out every evil thought and imagination. Walk in your authority. Speak what God says of you. Declare and decree what God has already declared and decreed concerning you! And if the enemy still wants to mess with you, throwing your past and mistakes at you, just remind him of his definite future...
Revelation 20:10 “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
Be free beloved. Be free in the love and grace of God. Cast all your cares upon Him, and let Him be Lord over your every day. Yield to Him, and walk in His anointing and freedom.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in every area of your lives. Be free. Walk in the freedom that the blood of Jesus has afforded you. Walk in the truth of God that He has spoken concerning you. Do not allow your past, any mistakes or failures to hold you back from walking in the life that God says is yours. And when the enemy comes knocking at your door (and he will!) Remember to let Jesus answer it, as you speak the word of God into your life and the atmosphere, while pulling down every stronghold that would try and keep you bound. There are times when our hearts just hurt so bad, we do not know if or how we will ever recover. The pain coursing through our soul can feel restricting; binding us up in heartache and pain until it feels like we will crumble and perhaps even perish under the weight of it all.
It is unspeakable pain. The kind of pain that you have no words for. The kind of pain that cannot ever be properly describe, because the hurt and pain is so deep and jarring, that it not only leaves you speechless, it renders you incapable of thinking of most anything else. What do you do with this kind of pain? This kind of grief? You give it to God. Sounds to easy. Yet, the answer will always be to give it to Jesus. Because, He, better than any other knows exactly what you need to make it through.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Though the pain you may be experiencing at this current moment seems unbearable; though it may seem like it will never go away; trust God to be the arms you run to. Trust the Father to console you, and give your heart rest in the midst of the storm. He will never fail you. He knows just what you need.
Matthew 5:4 (MSG) “You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.”
Psalm 27:4-5 (NASB) One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
God is able too take you through all and everything that comes at you in this life. When the pain is so heavy and seems unbearable, do not count God out of the equation. He is able to bring you through. He is able to keep you and cover you. He is able to soothe you, and comfort you as no other. He knows you. He knows your heart. He knows what you need. Even when you feel what you need the most you have just lost, or are losing. God is able to take your pain and make sense of it. It may not be today, tomorrow, or a month or year from now. But you will receive understanding, and look back at this moment in your life, and know what it is you needed to learn and receive through the unspeakable pain.
Pain can be crippling, and it can also be liberating. Pain can propel us into action. It all depends upon how we deal with pain in our lives. There was a time when I used pain to propel me further in my life. I would take the pain, and use it as energy and determination to do what I needed to do. Yet, there was only one thing I was doing wrong. I wasn't dealing with the pain. Although the pain stirred me to action, I put the cause of the pain in the back of my mind and didn't confront the hurt. I did not bring it to the Father so that it could be addressed and dealt with. I was short changing myself from having healing and comfort through it all; causing myself to become emotionally crippled. Unable to express what it was I was feeling inside. Unable to articulate what emotion I was feeling and why.
There are those who withdraw from the world and life in general when they face unspeakable pain. It is too much to bear. Too much to think about. And the pain is so heavy they are unable to deal with anything else in their lives. The pain is not only unspeakable, but unbearable, so they find themselves cutting themselves off from life. I found myself in this situation, as well. As I got older, and suffered so much loss and pain; I was on emotional overload, and pain overdose. It was just too much. And I battled with depression. I withdrew from the things I loved doing. My prayer life even suffered. I felt out of sorts all the time. And I knew if one more thing happened, I would die. That is how excruciating the pain was.
Yet, God was there through it all. He remains my anchor. What I learned, and now know for certain is that, we can get through all things; all pain and adversity, when we take it to God. No. Things don't just become all sunny and rosy. But we can have confidence in knowing that God is right there with us. We can have joy in the midst of sorrow if our focus shifts from the pain, to the Healer of the pain.
Allow the pain to propel you forward by, placing it all in God's hands and dealing with the source of the pain. Withdraw into the arms of God, but not from life. Yield to the Father, and allow Him to navigate the torrent of emotions and crippling pain that you may be currently facing, with the knowledge and understanding that God will see you through. That, He will not allow you to walk through this minefield of pain without being your Buffer, and your Soother; your Counselor in the times of trouble, bringing comfort and understanding to your soul. You just have to trust Him. Trust God to do what He does best: Love on you.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (MSG) “All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.”
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. No matter how deep the hurt. How unspeakable the pain. God will and can bring you through if you would trust Him to do so. Though it may seem like this pain will swallow you whole; know that it will not. It will make you stronger, and give you the wisdom to be the anchor for someone that will experience what you are going through now. Let the pain propel you, teach you, and strengthen you, by yielding to the Father. Allowing Him to bring you through this storm; being your anchor and your Healer. No One loves you more than God, or knows just what you need. You are Blessed. Now Go...and Be a Blessing!

Happy Father's Day! I give honor to each and every father this day and every day. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for your leadership, your support, your provision. May our heavenly Father bless the work of your hands to prosper and the dreams and visions in your heart to come to pass. Allow Him to lead you; especially in the most difficult of times. Believe in your heart that, God will never leave you but will lift you up and be your strength.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let your heart be opened to Father God, as He desires to fill those empty places, and to bring you into to a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.
It brings a certain kind of peace and calmness when you know and trusts that someone is protecting you. That, there is someone that is there to cover you, and to make sure that your needs are met, you are well provided for, is there for you to run to for shelter and safety. There is a peace in your soul and contentment in your heart when you know that you are not alone and that there is someone who will sacrifice all just to keep you safe. Who'd never give up on you or searching for you if you were ever lost.
Much like our earthly fathers, that is who our heavenly Father is, and so much more that cannot be put into words. We can take joy in the knowledge that God is our Father. Even if you've never had the kind of relationship with your earthly father, or you lost your father at a young age; God said, He is a Father to the fatherless. And He is there for you always. ALWAYS.
My earthly father did the best that he could do. His love was unconditional and never wavering. He encouraged me in so many ways. He was my first love and showed me what it means to be treated special and to be cherished. He was my first champion. He was the first one to believe in me and my dreams and told me I could and would achieve them because he knew I had it in me to do so. He was my best friend. And when he was taken away, I thought I'd die with him.
I didn't though. I lived. And I thrived because in addition to the love that my father showered me in; although he had his faults, his love propelled me forward, along with the love and care of my heavenly Father. My Savior. My Lord. My King. My Deity, now truly became my Father. My reflection of Him upon this earth was robbed from me, but He gave me Himself and along the way father figures upon this earth, who could physically embrace me and guide me. God never leaves us fatherless.
God wants to father us. To love us. To dote on us. To be there for all things concerning us. And yes...even to discipline us. Because, a good father knows that without discipline, there is destruction. Without discipline, we could never fully receive, or comprehend, or handle the bountifulness of the astounding awesomeness of the blessings of God!
A father should prepare you; lead, guide and instruct you in the ways of truth that will give you an expected end. Whether you had a father present in your life or not; regardless if you had a father that was good or bad; God says, He desires to be YOUR Father. To teach you and guide you, and prepare you for the inheritance that has been waiting for you.
The Bible tells us that a good father leaves an inheritance for their children. And it is not just speaking in terms of a monetary inheritance. He leaves an inheritance of integrity, of sound character, of love, of joy, of peace and of hope and faith.
Beloved, God wants to be our Father. He wants to bring us to an intimate place in Him, so that He may reveal to us the mysteries of His word, the joys of being in His presence, the abundance that comes from being showered in His love, the grace and peace that comes from His covering, the peace of knowing that He is always there and will never leave or forsake you. And that whatever you ask in Jesus' name, you can have if you believe.
I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. God our Father waits for you to yield to His touch; to answer His call and the knocking on the doors of your heart. Open up and let Him in. Let Him fill those empty places. Restore any damage, heal all the pain. Come to Him with all your heart so that He can fill you and love you the way only a Father could. You are so Blessed! Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "I Must Tell Jesus"

I Must Tell Jesus”
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

There is so much that is going on in our lives today. So many burdens we are carrying that, God just wants us to release. Often, we are telling the wrong people our problems. We are looking to man when God is the only one who can help, and lead us in the right direction.
There is nothing wrong with seeking help from others. Nothing wrong with sharing your burdens with the ones you love. However, God desires to be first. The less we take it to Jesus and lay at His feet, the heavier our burden gets, the tighter the yoke feels, because though our loved ones may care, and have good suggestions and intentions, it will always be the Father that knows best.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Release your fears. Release your burdens. Cast them upon the Father. He knows just what to do. Let God be your first go to, and allow Him to lead you where you need to go. God cares for you. He loves you best.
I can't count the times my mouth has stayed shut because of the hurt that my heart has felt. I am not one to tell my burdens and my problems to anyone. I am not the one to get on a phone or email what hardships or heartaches I may be experiencing at the time. I am a hoarder of my emotions. Very seldom do I let that dam break, allowing my emotions and heartache to flow. Usually I will write the pain out. But, when I find my pen still, and my mouth remains closed; I know that I have shut down emotionally, and haven't even taken it to Jesus. And that, my beloveds, is not good. It is the worst thing that I could do.
Many times, pain and hurt will cause you to lash out or withdraw. I seldom lash out, but I will withdraw very quickly. Hiding myself, my emotions. And if I am not careful, limiting my time in the presence of God. And that is exactly what the enemy wants: to separate us from God. For us to keep our mouths and hearts closed to the Father; concentrating on the hurt and pain until we are locked in a perpetual state of hurt, becoming acclimated to the pain; diving headlong into a spirit of self-pity and angst, until we can no longer hear the voice of God, recognize who we are, and become so depressed that we stop living and stop believing; stop having faith in God.
There is only one solution to this: We must tell Jesus. Sure, it may sound so simple; so easy. And the truth of it is: It really is just that easy as telling Jesus what's going on. Casting all your cares and concerns at His feet. The hard part will be to leave it there. To trust Him to take care of it. But, it is very easy to open our mouths. Because no matter what you may think, believe, or have heard; God is always there. He is always present to hear our requests, to take upon Himself our burdens. To, lead in the direction we should go. To, lead us to the right people that can assist us in our times of need.
Here's what I know for certain: When my heart is overwhelmed, and I feel the walls closing in on me, my first instinct is to shut down—emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. Every part of me desires to be numb; to not “feel” anything. But not feeling is not living. It is a false state of being. Going numb only prolongs what it is that we need to face and deal with. Problems do not go away or get solved by shutting down our emotions or our mind. They grow, until it consumes us, and every thing we do, every single moment of our lives. But when I released it to Jesus. Told Him all of it. Confessed to Him everything; every hurt, pain, disappointment, heartache; I felt a lightness in my chest. I felt warm in my soul once again. No. Things did not get better immediately, but over time. And with each moment spent in the presence of God, my burden became lighter. The chains wrapped around my heart and spirit, lifted. When I dared to praise God, though my flesh said it couldn't; the blessings of peace and calmness surely did come down.
I implore you to tell Jesus all of it. Pour out your heart and soul. Lay it at His feet. He is there to carry your burdens. To take away that yoke of pain and heaviness. We hold onto things, and carry things that we do not have to. We take on the problems of this world, and hold and nurture them as though they were our babies. Well, they're not. And it's time to let it all go. Tell it all to Jesus, and let Him take over.

I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me,
He ever loves and cares for His own.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Tell it to Jesus. Lay it all on the line. Do not hold onto all that pain and hurt. Release those burdens into the Father's capable hands. Do not allow yourself to become so overwhelmed, that you cannot see or take the hand of God that He has stretched forth towards you. He loves you more than you know. And there is nothing to difficult for the Father to take on. Not when it comes to you! You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Every situation in our life brings another revelation of who God is, and who we truly are. Our trials and tests are not meant to destroy us, but shape us into the children and friends of God. To bring us to that expected end.
Our thoughts about God have been shaped more by what we have been shown or taught, whether than what we have learned through a personal relationship with the Heavenly Father. God is so much more than we thought. We can only come to know this, if we are first willing to get to know the Father for ourselves, rather than just rely upon what another person has stated or taught us.
I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. May you be inspired to seek a more personal and intimate relationship with the Father, allowing Him to reveal Himself to you in a whole new light. May you encounter a personal revelation of our true God for yourself.
I would often tell my husband that, one could tell you about Jesus. They could teach you about the Word and about being a believer. They could even share their personal testimony. However, there is nothing more powerful than a personal encounter with God. Nothing more solid and confirming as revelation received on a personal level. Because, when God gives you something personal, between you and Him; when He reveals Himself, no one can take that from you. You will know for self the majesty of the Holy God. And no one will be able to easily persuade you from your firsthand account.
Many of us are lacking a firsthand account in relation to God. We have relied upon what others have told us. We have been living vicariously through the testimony of others. Some of us have been satisfied with the relationship that our parents and grandparents have had with the Father, and assume that because they pray for us, and believe God so strongly, that by some divine osmosis, that is good enough for us to make it into heaven also.
It doesn’t work that way. Though the effective and fervent prayers of the righteous avails much; it does not make us saved or guarantee our eternity with the Father. Only a personal relationship with the Father gives us that guarantee. Believing in Christ and accepting Him as our Savior will usher us into an eternity with the Father.
I heard a couple of things this week that had me chuckling at first, then growing sad, then a bit angry. Yes. I went through the gambit of emotions; especially when I realized how many believe such crap concerning not just Christianity, but any religion. But more precisely, the notion of what a personal relationship with Christ entails. In the end, sadness remained as the anger dissipated.
It is a widespread thought, and belief, amongst many (not just young people either) that a relationship with the Father is boring. That, you have to give up so much for God and have to live such an uneventful and rigid life. That, there is no fun in Christ. I’m shaking my head right now. How far from the mark so many are when it comes to the knowledge of who God is, and what a relationship with the Father is truly like.
It is sad that so many do not see how liberating and exciting a relationship with the Father sincerely is. But, as I thought of the misperception, I couldn’t help but to lay part of the blame at the feet of those who call themselves a Christian and have been such poor examples of the love of Christ and what a relationship with God looks like.
Then I thought about it some more. They themselves do not know. For many of them are only living a life that they were taught to live. For many, a relationship with Christ is symbolic and fraught with much tradition and ritualism. There is nothing personal or liberating about their relationship with the Father. And if that was the only example that I had about what a relationship with God was, I’d probably think and be the same way. How utterly sad.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have those who have poorly represented Christ by living a life that is carnal. There is no difference between their saved and unsaved lives. Leaders who have been caught in lascivious actions, under shepherds fleecing the flock, those claiming to believe living a duplicitous life; having questionable behaviors. All of this leads to the misconception of who God is.
God is so much more than we than we think. He is much less complicated than the world has painted Him to be. Less judging than the church has warned. Yet, He is more loving, caring, and merciful than most would know unless they get to know Him for self. Yes. He is not a pushover. Yes. He is a God of discipline and order. Yes. He will hold us in judgment (making us accountable for our actions). Yes. He requires us to live a life of righteousness and holiness. But, we can only know what is meant for us, and how we can live a personal life pleasing to God if we are in a personal, intimate relationship with the Father for ourselves. Just as we all have our own DNA, so does our relationship with the Father. We cannot just rely on someone else’s relationship or experience with God. We can be inspired and encouraged, but we must have our own personal relationship with the Father.
There will be times when it will seem as though God is not with you but against you. You will be stretched and pulled and buffeted, along with accused, persecuted and exposed. However, you will also be loved, adored, protected, covered, strengthened, and encouraged. In the end, you will come to know the Father in a way you cannot verbalize, but your life will exemplify. It is all a part of getting to know who God truly is, and who He has ordained you to be.
I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Now is the time to yield to the Father, and get to know Him for yourself. Your desire to know yourself and want more in this life begins with a personal and intimate relationship with the Father. Another person’s story cannot be your story, nor your legacy. It’s time for you to have your own, and to stand in the revelation of who God is to you. Get to know Him for yourself. There is much He has to give and reveal to you, which is just for you and no one else. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!
