“Honoring Fatherhood”

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, father-figures, and fathers-to-be. I pray that you will look to God for all instructions, allowing Him to lead you; even in the most difficult of times. Our heavenly Father will never leave you but will lift you up and be your strength.

I declare that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. In honoring your father, know that you are honoring God. No matter what path your earthly father may have walked, when you acknowledge him as your father, God will move upon your behalf.

I love my father and honored him no matter what he did or didn't do. Yes. I was a Daddy's girl. Many say it is difficult to look past or forgive their father's transgressions. However, I have come to understand, that unless we can forgive our fathers—no matter if he is present or not—we do ourselves a disservice when it comes to our own life's journey and choices made in relationships. It does not mean we condone heinous actions, such as abuse. To honor him means that we acknowledge them in that, they are part of the reason we exist. Not everyone will have a relationship with their father, for various reasons. And that is okay.

Not everyone makes a great parent. Some do not possess the skills or desire it takes to do what is necessary as a parent. Yet, this does not cancel out the fact that God says to show them respect, if not for the mere fact that because of them we are here in the land of the living. Let us face it: without his contribution, we would not be here. So for that reason alone, if you cannot find any other reason, he acknowledges them.

Did you know that the commandment: Honor thy father and mother, is the first commandment with a promise?

Ephesians 6:2-3 "Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."

So that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth…That is the promise. Here is the deal: God wants us to show honor and respect to our parents regardless of what they may have done or not have done. The Father’s number one concern is our hearts, and that we are not blocked from receiving his blessings for our lives.

Do you think God doesn’t know about the atrocities that some parents make? You don't think He sees the abandonment. The failures? The broken promises? The abuse and rejection? Yes. He sees all of that. Yet, the Father understands that if we walk around with unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, and disrespect towards our parents—the very ones who gave us life—then we are blocking what He has ordained for our lives. We trap ourselves, and may very well become the very person we have dishonored all this time; repeating their behaviors and patterns in our relationships with our own children.

Regard them, consider them, and respect them. Do not let your heart be burdened down with dishonor that you miss what God has for you in your life.

I honor my father. He was far from perfect. He did things that were not acceptable. However, I loved him, honored him, and considered his life, as well. If it had not been for him, I would not be here. If it had not been for him, I would not be an author. He was the first person who told me I could. When he passed, I was only sixteen. I thank God for the Uncles I have who stood in the gap and nourished my broken heart. They are fathers, as well, who have made mistakes and are not perfect. But I honor them, just as their children do.

Honoring your father is not for his benefit; it is for yours. God knows exactly how to reach a parent who is not behaving accordingly. To honor them, despite, is a testament to your heart, and where God wants to take you. When it comes down to it; to honor, respect, and regard or consider them, has to do what you desire to accomplish in life.

Many fathers are not being honored or respected for who they are. They have worked hard to provide, for and to be the best father they could be, even when they had no example themselves of a good father. They make mistakes along the way but they are not giving up. They are striving to do what is right, so their children will benefit and receive what they never received as a child.

Whether you are considered the greatest of fathers, or the worst of fathers, I acknowledge you today. I give God praise for you. For those who are not doing so well as a father, I consider you and all you may have gone through, and pray that the Lord will get a hold of you and direct your path; bring healing to your wounds, and forgiveness to your life so that you may truly begin to experience the joy and abundance of fatherhood. To every father that is doing all they can as a father; I honor you and pray that your heart is continually filled with joy, that your example of fatherhood and leadership will be passed on to your children, and that your children will honor you all the days of your life. To those fathers who just do not care or have it in them to parent, I honor God for using you as a conduit to bring forth a life that will do extraordinary things in this world despite who and what you are.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity finds permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. It may be difficult for some but honor your father. Whether he is the greatest or not, give honor to him as the person God chose to bring you into this world. God is looking at your heart, and it will determine how your days are upon this earth. Make peace so that your manifestations of blessings are not held up. You are blessed. Happy Father's Day to every father and father to be, and for every man that has filled the role in a child's life that may have never known a father's love. May this day be a day of happiness and joy.

I decree today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. That is a continued source of encouragement and inspiration. May you know the depths of the love that God hoards in His heart for you. May you know Him as a Father; the one who knows you, understands you and has nothing but the very best for you.

There is no denying the impact that a father can have upon a child's life. Whether it is positive or negative, a father's impact on his child can be felt for a lifetime.

I was fortunate to have a very loving relationship with my father. He encouraged me and inspired me. And always showed how much he believed in me and my dreams. As a child, you believe everyone has a father like yours. But I came to realize how blessed I was.

I lost my father at a very young age; it nearly destroyed me, breaking my heart into a million pieces. I had plenty of uncles who stepped up to the plate and helped my brother and me throughout the years. But it still never compared to my father.

It was my relationship with the Heavenly Father that kept me tethered to the foundation that my father had laid. My relationship with God helped me to heal and not forget the lessons that I needed to remember. I felt myself slipping. Because of heartache and devastation. My mind wanted to run and let go, but my heart and my God would not let it be so.

My father's influence on my life; his impact was huge. He left such an indelible mark, that it helps to push me forward in some of the darkest times that followed.

Never underestimate the impact that a father has on their child. There is something that only a father can provide. Can be in their children's lives. I thank God for the heavenly Father, and how He covers us and is reaching towards us every day. To be the Father to the fatherless, hope, and healing to those who lost their earthly fathers. And that foundation that we all need to make it through this journey we call life.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Allow the heavenly Father into those places in your heart that have been wounded, abandoned, and rejected by an earthly father. Let the Heavenly Father remind you, and fill you where the loss of your earthly father may have left a gaping hole. There is nothing impossible for our God. And that includes being the father you need, desire, and deserve. He has more than enough room in His heart and on His lap. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing.

 appy Father’s Day! I extend greetings and exaltations to each and every father and father to be. Not just for today, but for each and every day that you are granted to be alive in this earth and having an impact in a child’s life. Whether you are a biological father, surrogate father, mentor, bonus-father (I don’t like to use the word step!) If you are a father figure in any kind of way, having an impact on so many impressionable lives and in the lives of young men who may be young adults but still need and yearn for a father in their lives. I salute you with the love of God, and pray that the blessings of God fill you, and surround you, as you yield yourself to the grace and will of God. Whatever you think you may lack, know that it all can be found in Father God!

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart mind and soul. Yield all that you are and who you desire to be to God today. There is nothing you need or desire that cannot be found in the Father God. Even as mature adults, we never stop needing the love and guidance of our parents. Their wisdom is invaluable. Nothing matches Father God's wisdom. Spend quality time in the presence of God this week. You may have known Him as your Deliverer, Healer, Friend, and Savior. Now let Him be the Father you need.

Long Lasting Seeds

Proverbs 26:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

A parent that loves that child will chastise them and lovingly discipline them when they are in error. The Word of God admonishes us to train up a child in the way they should go. Parents are responsible for instructing their children and raising them to be responsible and accountable for their actions. More times than not, a child will do what they see more than what they are told. Most children are a reflection of who we are as parents and what we believe. We cannot expect our children to do the right thing if they have never seen what the right thing is or have been taught.

It is not love or wisdom to give our children everything that they want. Nor is it wise to allow them to raise themselves or believe that there are no consequences for their actions. They will not only correct them when they are wrong but also praise them when they are correct. A Parent will lead by example. When they fail or fall, will not hide it from their children but instead, make it a life lesson, teaching their children responsibility, accountability, and humility.

What a parent teaches their child in their formative years, will never depart from them. It is a seed planted, growing throughout the years, a small acorn, growing into a strong and indestructible oak tree. Strong and mighty in all seasons.

My husband and I were talking about this earlier last week about the lessons and foundations we received as children. The foundations we received shaped who we are. However, our lives may have taken different paths, and though he may have studied and believed in another way of life for a while, at his core was always what he was taught as a child. It is what remains at his core and reminds him of who he is and what he truly believes in relation to his relationship with our Heavenly Father.

The teaching of our children is most important to our children’s self-worth and identity. There are far too many God-fearing believers missing from children’s lives.

All We Need is in Father God

Joshua 1:9  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Hebrews 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

There is absolutely nothing we stand in need of that cannot be found in Father God. Do you know how much God loves you? Do you know that He already knows your thoughts before you think them? Did you know that He would leave the company of 99 believers who have found themselves in Him just to search for you if you did not know Him and was lost, having trouble finding your way? You matter! You matter to God. Everything about you, God cares. All that you need and have been searching for is all in Him. God has it all. He knows where you need to be, needs to go, how to proceed—all of it! God knows all about you.

What is holding you back from going and yielding to Father God? What keeps you from trusting God? Was it a prayer you believe He did not answer? Is it current trials and tests that seem to be going on forever? Trust me, I understand. I am right there at this very moment in my life. Yet, I love God and believe that all that I need is in Him. He has the answers and the keys I need to unlock the doors. When the due season comes, I will use those keys as He instructs. He sees what I cannot see and when the time is right, He will reveal all and make the understanding known.

God admonishes us to be strong and courageous and not to be discouraged. He is with us wherever we go; even in mistakes, He will be there. There is nothing hidden from God. He knows everything! I do not know about you, but I feel comforted by that fact. For when I cannot find the words to pray; when I am at a loss and need direction, I can literally cry out to God, and my Daddy will be there, knowing what is best for me. Always! My Heavenly Father will never leave me or disappoint me; even when I feel let down by Him, somewhere down the line of time, I will be given understanding and insight, gaining wisdom that I am certain I will pass along.

Beloveds, do not mistake the chastisement and discipline of God as rejection. Do not pout like a child who does not get their way and plays on the parent’s heartstrings. God is bigger than whatever you are facing or will ever face. He is able to discipline you with love and still bless you with your heart’s desire. Not because of how good or perfect you seem to be, but by His grace and mercies, and because He has made promises to us and will not go back on His word.

My Beloveds, May the spirit of peace and prosperity finds permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. All you need and desire is in Father God. His love is unconditional. Strength, peace, joy, healing, grace, creative ideas, purpose…all of it is in God. Allow the Father that place in your life; to fill every empty part with His love and presence. You will never regret saying yes to God. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing!

Happy Father's Day! I give honor to each and every father this day and every day. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for your leadership, your support, your provision. May our heavenly Father bless the work of your hands to prosper and the dreams and visions in your heart to come to pass. Allow Him to lead you; especially in the most difficult of times. Believe in your heart that, God will never leave you but will lift you up and be your strength.

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let your heart be opened to Father God, as He desires to fill those empty places, and to bring you into to a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.

It brings a certain kind of peace and calmness when you know and trusts that someone is protecting you. That, there is someone that is there to cover you, and to make sure that your needs are met, you are well provided for, is there for you to run to for shelter and safety. There is a peace in your soul and contentment in your heart when you know that you are not alone and that there is someone who will sacrifice all just to keep you safe. Who'd never give up on you or searching for you if you were ever lost.

Much like our earthly fathers, that is who our heavenly Father is, and so much more that cannot be put into words. We can take joy in the knowledge that God is our Father. Even if you've never had the kind of relationship with your earthly father, or you lost your father at a young age; God said, He is a Father to the fatherless. And He is there for you always. ALWAYS.

My earthly father did the best that he could do. His love was unconditional and never wavering. He encouraged me in so many ways. He was my first love and showed me what it means to be treated special and to be cherished. He was my first champion. He was the first one to believe in me and my dreams and told me I could and would achieve them because he knew I had it in me to do so. He was my best friend. And when he was taken away, I thought I'd die with him.

I didn't though. I lived. And I thrived because in addition to the love that my father showered me in; although he had his faults, his love propelled me forward, along with the love and care of my heavenly Father. My Savior. My Lord. My King. My Deity, now truly became my Father. My reflection of Him upon this earth was robbed from me, but He gave me Himself and along the way father figures upon this earth, who could physically embrace me and guide me. God never leaves us fatherless.

God wants to father us. To love us. To dote on us. To be there for all things concerning us. And yes...even to discipline us. Because, a good father knows that without discipline, there is destruction. Without discipline, we could never fully receive, or comprehend, or handle the bountifulness of the astounding awesomeness of the blessings of God!

A father should prepare you; lead, guide and instruct you in the ways of truth that will give you an expected end. Whether you had a father present in your life or not; regardless if you had a father that was good or bad; God says, He desires to be YOUR Father. To teach you and guide you, and prepare you for the inheritance that has been waiting for you.

The Bible tells us that a good father leaves an inheritance for their children. And it is not just speaking in terms of a monetary inheritance. He leaves an inheritance of integrity, of sound character, of love, of joy, of peace and of hope and faith.

Beloved, God wants to be our Father. He wants to bring us to an intimate place in Him, so that He may reveal to us the mysteries of His word, the joys of being in His presence, the abundance that comes from being showered in His love, the grace and peace that comes from His covering, the peace of knowing that He is always there and will never leave or forsake you. And that whatever you ask in Jesus' name, you can have if you believe.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. God our Father waits for you to yield to His touch; to answer His call and the knocking on the doors of your heart. Open up and let Him in. Let Him fill those empty places. Restore any damage, heal all the pain. Come to Him with all your heart so that He can fill you and love you the way only a Father could. You are so Blessed! Now go...and Be a Blessing!

“We Don't Always Understand”

“Who can measure the wealth and wisdom and knowledge of God? Who can understand his decisions or explain what he does?” Romans 11:33 (CEV)

Scripture Contemplation: Deuteronomy 28; Joshua 22:5; Micah 4; Romans 11...

There are things that occur in this world that we just don't understand. There are things that happen that make you ask: Why God? Why does God allow such things to occur? Why does He allow such atrocities to continue to take place? Why?

We don't always understand why things happen the way they do, but we can believe that God is still God on the throne, and that He has the final word in all that happens upon this earth. It's hard to sometimes see that, or to even believe that when you are the one constantly in the line of fire.

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement for your heart, mind, and soul. Hold on to the hands of God and never let them go. Though it may seem like evil continually wins; know that God is not sleep, and neither is He winking. For those of us that believe, we must continue to believe and walk in faith, and follow the instructions of our God. Listen; God is speaking.

Heart heavy. Mind filled with confusion. Thoughts unable to wrap around the continued miscarriage of justice. Where does one begin to understand what is going on? How can we say God cares and understands when we obviously keep getting the short end of the stick? We say God cares and understands because He does. Regardless to circumstances or situations, God certainly cares and understands, and has made away for each and everyone of us.

We may not always understand the way in which God does things; but a closer, intimate relationship with the Father will bring understanding of His nature and how He does things. Make no mistake: God is not sitting back and blinking at the evil that men do. Or, the injustices that are occurring each and every day around the world. However, for those of us that say we love the Lord, and are in a relationship, should know and recognize that these are the times that we must be upon our knees and turning down our plates. We must also remember that we are not fighting against flesh and blood.

Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Sometimes it is truly hard to wrap our mind around the fact that we are up against such evil, and spirits, because we contend with the flesh each and every day. It makes it difficult for us to understand the battles that we face and why. It sometimes makes no sense at all. And this is why we, as children of God, must be continually prayerful. We must be fully dressed always in the armor of God. We must constantly be before the Lord, seeking Him, and following His directions.

There are times when we forget that God has given each person the freedom to choose. The Father does not force anything upon us. We all have the right to choose the path we walk, who we believe; if we accept God or reject Him. With these choices are consequences. And sometimes the choices of others bare evil and hurtful consequences for us.

Yet, in knowing all of this, we mustn’t grow weary or give up on God or His promises. Yes. Many a thing are easier said than done. But God is our strong tower, even in the midst of heartaches, disappointments, and the evil that men sometimes do. We won't always understand the reasoning behind why certain things happen; why God allows certain things. But we can rest assure that God gets the final word on each and every matter, and He will indeed strengthen us to endure.

Isaiah 40: 28-31 28 Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; 31 but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.

No, we will not always understand. But God is still God, and He will have His way. Let us remember to pray, to stand firm in the word of God, and to fast and believe. Though the enemy seem to be winning, we can rest assure that God is not slack, and that He shall recompense to each person what is due them. Don't lose hope or faith. Instead, put it all in the hands of God and follow whatever the instructions the Father gives. It will lead you to a place of victory...always.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives: spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. Allow the hand of God to rest on you; giving you comfort and strength in times of uncertainty. Remember that we are not up against flesh and blood, but the wicked spirits that inhabit lost souls. Pray continually. And Believe God for His understanding. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

I would like to take this moment to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the father's and father's to be. May your heart be filled with abundant joy. I pray that you will continue to look to the Father for all instructions, allowing Him to lead you; even in the most difficult of times.  God will never leave you, but will lift you up and be your strength.
