We have all heard that our words are powerful. We know that God created the universe with words. We understand the impact that words can have on a person’s life; especially those that are bullied, nearing death, facing certain tragedy.

But how many of us understand that there is a connection to what we are thinking and what resides in our hearts, to the words that we speak each and every day. Words that we say to others. Words we speak concerning ourselves.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections is a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. May the words that come forth from your lips be not only aligned with your heart, but with the heart of God, where your thoughts have been renewed.

There is a connection between what we are thinking of ourselves and others or a situation to the words we allow to pass through our lips. The human mind processes many thoughts throughout the day; many we are not even consciously aware of. Our mouths often betray what lies within our heart. Without any thought, we can blurt out things that are hurtful, harmful, and devastating.

What are we thinking?  When certain conversations and words come through our mouths, are we really aware of our thoughts? Many are not because they have gone into shutdown mode where their thoughts are concerned. They are in escape mode. And more often than not, our words will betray what we have not had the courage to confront; especially in a hostile or threatening situation where one may feel cornered, abused, scared, or frustrated.

There are times when we may lash out in anger and say things that we did not mean to say. Then there are times when our tongues will betray what we have hidden in our hearts. There will always come a time when whatever we have buried so deep, will no longer be able to stay buried; especially when we are in a relationship with God.

An intimate relationship with the Father will bring introspect. It will cause us to look within and confront some things about ourselves that we may have been avoiding for a very long time. Continued intimacy with God brings healing and deliverance. And part of that process is often taking a look at what we think and feel; what we think of ourselves and others, and the why of it.

Have you ever been around a person that continually speaks negatively about others? They have absolutely nothing nice to say concerning anyone. They seem miserable. Their mouths have caused negative feelings throughout the space; changing the very atmosphere. You may ask yourself: what is that person thinking? What could be going through their mind; what is in their hearts to have them be so foul or negative?

I often thought that. There were times when I have said something and wished I could take it back. I asked myself what I was thinking. And I was reminded by the Father that I must guard my tongue. And in guarding my tongue, I must take reign over my thoughts. To actually stop and think before I speak. To, be certain renew my mind with the Word, and to respond and not react.

We all have a story. We are all on the journey that will greet us with different experiences. We may not understand another person’s journey or why they do and say the things they say. However, we can get to the root of the things we are saying and thinking of ourselves that do not line up with what God has spoken to us.

Sometimes our mouths betray us and will reveal more than what we may want another person to know. There comes a time in our lives when we can no longer hide what is inside of us. We no longer can pretend or push down our emotions and thoughts, because there is just too much. And in order for God to pour into us what we need, and what He desires for us, we must empty out our cups.

However, this in no way gives us license to have a brash tongue that cuts and causes people to bleed; piercing their hearts and souls; causing damage as never before. We have a responsibility to ourselves, to God, to those we love and interact with to not only guard our tongue, but to check our thoughts, and be open to the truth about ourselves.

No one really likes to admit their faults, flaws, and fears. For too long, many of us have buried things so deep that there is no more room at the Inn! It is time to release it unto God before we release it upon others in a very hurtful and damaging ways.

I always believed that hurt people hurt people, and that anger is a symptom of some kind of hurt, and a person is more likely than not, lashing out because of something that hurt them, and things that they may not want to face.

To be truly free, there must be a confession. To open our hearts to the Father, we must be willing to face the pain of buried memories, and thoughts that we may have been suppressing. To be able to guard our tongues; we must be willing to allow the Father to guard our hearts as He takes on a journey of self-discovery; wherein we will have to decide if we have the faith and courage to face our past, our shortcomings, our fears, and uncertainties. To be willing to change how we think and believe about self.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity will find permanent rest in your lives. There is power in our tongues. The power to speak life and death to a situation. The power to change lives; our own lives, and to reveal where our thoughts lie and what is being etched in our hearts. Allow God reign over your thoughts as you renew them daily. Allow Holy Spirit to be your mind regulator and your tongue tamer. There is nothing more precious than speaking and believing what God speaks and believes of you. Let the mind of Christ dwell within. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

Do You Really Want To Know The Truth?

“Do You Really Want To Know The Truth?”

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.” Psalm 51:6 (NKJV)

How many times have you asked the Father what to do? How many times have you prayed to God, seeking which way to go, or what you might have done wrong so you could correct it? I have, quite a few times. But it was only when I have been honest with myself and searched my heart that I truly heard the Father, and understood what to do next. If you are not first willing to look within yourself, then you must ask: Do you really want to know the truth? The truth can be quite painful but at the same time liberating if you truly are ready to move forward, and receive all that God has ordained for your life.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Allow God to illuminate your heart with the truth. Don’t be afraid to search your heart and find out what is there. Allow the truth to free you, and set you on the path to your God ordained life.

What is it about the truth that scares some people? It is true: the truth can be painful. But it is also healing and liberating. I have always maintained that I would rather know the truth and be hurt than to be told a lie and find out later. The lie would be far more hurtful, to me. I believe that when you are told the truth; though it may hurt, you at least know what it is you are dealing with. You can build on that and make the proper decisions. With a lie; one has to continue to lie just to cover up that one lie. Then when the truth is revealed (and it always is), there is so much room for pain and damage that you may never be able to recover the relationship.

During my life’s journey, I have come to understand that many, including myself at one time, do not really want to know the truth. Why? Because the truth can be painful. Because it causes one to have to take responsibility. Perhaps it may reveal that we are the one that is holding up our blessing. And, we may be fearful to uncover all that we have been suppressing in our lives: past hurts, old wounds, abuse, and etcetera.

I openly admit that at one time, I was the master at hiding the truth from myself. I hid it so well that I did not even know who I was anymore. I had lost my own identity and was living my life to please others. Living the life that I thought would make others happy. The truth is—my past is filled with hurtful things that I just wanted to forget; pain that I wanted to stay buried. And if I were to face the truth about why I was not happy in my present, and why I felt stagnated, then I was going to have searched myself, and hear my truth which I wasn’t sure I really wanted to know.

Here’s what I know for certain: Whatever you do not confront will continue to show up in your life in different ways until you decide to deal with it once and for all. It will show up in your relationships, your career, your sleep, and your daily habits. It will be like an annoying itch that you cannot reach until you finally find a way to scratch it.

If we sincerely want to live the life that God has ordained for us, then we must walk in truth. In order to fully embrace what God has for us, our hearts must be prepared to handle all that goodness and awesomeness. But when we have things hidden in our hearts; truths that we do not want to confront; then we hinder the move of God in our lives. We stop ourselves from living our best life possible.

To thy own self-be true. Many of us hate to be lied to. I say many and not all; because there are some that want to be lied to. It enables them to continue to live their own lie. But I digress. Many of us hate to be lied to, but we will lie to ourselves. We will hide from our own truths, and do all that we can to avoid searching our hearts and bringing up and out those things that have hindered our lives from moving forward.

The sad truth is, too many of us have become comfortable in dysfunction. We have become comfortable in living an unfulfilled life; a stagnated life. Oh, we say we want more. We will profess that we want to go further. We say that we desire all that God has for us. Yet the truth of the matter is; we are afraid. We are afraid to step out of our comfort zone. We have become tied to our excuses and too familiar with our fears.

It’s time, beloved. It’s time to face our truths. It’s time to confront our pasts. It’s time to search and know our hearts. It’s time to know the truth, so we can be liberated, strengthened, healed, and delivered. What we refuse to confront will only keep showing up until we are forced to face it.

Allow God into those hidden places. The places that you have feared to tread for fear of uncovering the truth. Let the truth set you free. Let God become your truth. You are not alone in this journey. And your journey doesn’t have to only consist of pain, heartache, and disappointments. No. Your journey can be filled with joy—even in the midst of pain. Laughter—even in the midst of sorrow. Hope—in the midst of despair. God is your anchor. He will not lead you to a place to abandon you. He desires to wash away your shame and to give you beauty for your ashes if you will take the step to know and face your truths.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Know the truth; it will set you free. Face your past. Confront your fears. With God with you, you cannot lose. Yes. It may be painful, but Christ will be the balm that soothes your wounds and brings healing to your heart. Trust Him. He’s never lost a case! It’s time to live your best and most authentic life now. God loves you. And His love washes away all the hurt, pain, lies, and sin. You might not believe this, but it’s the truth: You are Blessed! Now go….and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "In Times of Pain and Heartache"

“In Times of Pain and Heartache”

“He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.” Isaiah 40:29 (NASB)

Scripture Contemplation; Psalm 121; Isaiah 40; Jeremiah 17; Zechariah 4; Ephesians 4; 6; Philippians 4:13…

It is so easy to let go and stop believing then it is to hold on and keep believing; standing in faith; trusting God to do just what He said. Oh, how I am there this very day. At the crossroads of holding on and letting go. Yet, my relationship with the Father just won’t allow me to let go. Even through this time of pain and heartache, I will continue to hold on, because I know God has me.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Though the times before you may be difficult and painful, and at times heart-wrenching; I implore you to look to the hills which cometh your faith; for your strength comes from the Lord.

This is what I know for certain: I am alive, breathing, and walking only by the grace and mercy of the Lord. There is a war going on between my flesh, emotions, and my spirit. There is a battle between my intellect and my faith. There are times when I can’t say who is winning because my heart just aches so much that my throat tightens from squeezing back the tears that want to continually flow. Yet, I still reach forward to God, even though I can admit that I am angry with God.

Yes. I said it. I am angry with God. Surely He could have stepped in! Surely He could have done something! Surely He could have prevented certain things! Surely He could have heard my prayers and answered! Surely He could have said something instead of being silent! And I could go on and on, because my flesh will always cry out this way, while my spirit says: All things are working out for my good. I will not grow weary in well doing. I will see the righteousness of God in my life.

I cannot be anything but transparent before you today, beloveds. When I say the pain and heartache that I am experiencing at this moment is deep; it is. It is so excruciating that it feels like someone has a vice-grip on my heart and is squeezing it. The enemy is taunting, while my spirit is yelling: GOD CANNOT LIE!!!

Have you been here beloved? Are you here now beloved? Are you in much pain and heartache that you do not know how or if you are going to make it? The last thing you want is a bunch of scriptures quoted to you. The last thing you want to hear is that God is working it out. All you know is that you want the pain to stop. You want God to answer your prayers…NOW!

This is the point where we need the scriptures more than ever. This is the point when we must remember the promises of God. This is the time when we must be totally honest with ourselves and the Lord. Trust me; God can handle it! Tell God you are hurting. Tell the Father you are angry at Him. Tell God about your disappointments. And after you have done all of that; after you have cried and felt sorry for yourself; open your mouth and begin to give God the praise. Open your mouth and begin to speak the scriptures, the promises of God, to your situation and your circumstances.

Yes! It is difficult. It is hard to do these things when the pain is so raw and present. Yet, this is what we must do to hold on. This is what we must do by faith. We cannot trust our feelings, beloved. We cannot go by what things appear to be. We cannot allow the present sufferings keep us from walking in faith and calling upon the Lord. Why? Because the moment we give in to the pain and heartache is the moment the enemy wins. It is the moment we lose.

We must determine in our hearts to go forward and to hang on no matter what we are going through. Yes, it is hard. Because it is during these times that we are in our emotions. We are like an open wound and exposed to the elements. But Jesus is the salve that covers us. And trust me; the flesh will fight continually against your spirit. The enemy will continue to whisper his lies. But we must determine to hold on.

It is easy to let go and to go back to the world’s way. You just let go. It is much harder to hold on because the flesh continually wants to wallow in the pain instead of remembering the promise. My goodness, it hurts so badly! Some days I just cry and cry, and my heart aches so badly. And I just want it to be over. I just want God to do what He said and bring His promises to pass right now!

I confessed my anger to the Lord. I let out all that is in my heart. I bring it the throne and lay it at the altar. Then, though my flesh does not want to, I remember His promises and I give Him the praise. I speak the scriptures. And I make God my strength. Yes. It still hurts, but I know that if I give up; if I let go now; things will only get worse, and the devil wins. And I refuse to give the victory to the enemy when he has already been defeated.

There is a fine line between moving forward in faith, and falling into self-pity. If we concentrate only upon the pain and heartache; making a shrine to it daily, then we are limiting God from moving forward on our behalf. There must come a time when we ask ourselves if we are going to believe God or not? If we are going to trust Him where we cannot trace Him? If we are going to walk by faith and not by sight? And, if we truly believe that God will deliver the righteous out every affliction! I am holding on. Determined that this pain and heartache will not last.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Though what you may be experiencing right now is painful. You may not be able to see the road before you; continue to trust God to bring you through. Let your faith lead you where your flesh is reluctant to go. We walk by faith, not by sight. God is doing just what He said; even if it doesn’t look like it. Your faith will determine how soon this, too, shall pass. Let the power of God fill you and strengthen you. Walk in His strength as you hold on to faith. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

It Doesn't Make Any Sense

“It Doesn't Make Any Sense”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6

Scripture Contemplation: Job 34; Psalm 128; Proverbs 16; Jeremiah 29:11; 1 Corinthians 2:8-10; Hebrews 4:12...

I don't know. It doesn't make any sense. How could this happen? Why do these things keep happening? Is God even there? Is He even listening to me? Is this journey in vain? Is there even any purpose to holding on and having faith? What is going on!? I trusted and believed, and still!

Those are just a few of the things that crossed my mind and my lips this past week after yet another devastating blow happened in my life. Have you been there? Are you there now? How are you faring in your faith? There are many things that will happen in our life that will not make any sense at all. Yet, the Father wants us to hold on. To maintain our faith. Seems like a lot to ask for; especially when you have been holding on for so long.

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. As it is very easy to give up and let go, I ask that you would do the harder thing: hold on. Do not let go of the promises of God; regardless of what it looks like or how long you have been waiting; keep holding on. It takes a lot more to keep holding on. But if you continue to trust God, He will see you through.

I cannot even begin to tell you the heartache, the disappointment, the confusion that I experienced this past week. It was so heart-wrenching and emotionally debilitating. Even when you know you have done all that you could do; you have believed, trusted God, had faith; you still find yourself asking God why because it just doesn't make any sense.

My mind could not comprehend any reason for what took place. It didn't make any sense to me whatsoever. Yet, in the stillness of my heart, I can hear God say: I got you. However, I could hear a “but” on my part. But why God? But how God? Why did you let this happen? Wasn't my faith strong enough? Didn't I believe? So why? It doesn't make any sense. Please help me to understand.

We are going to experience things in this lifetime that we are just not going to understand. It will not make any sense to us at all, and God will ask us to have faith; to keep believing Him and trusting that He is working all things out. The Father understands clearly what He is asking of us, and how hard it may be when it just doesn't make any sense to us.

The Father also understands that many of us will falter in our faith. We will waver in our belief in Him and what He has spoken concerning our lives. Yet, He still admonishes us to hold on, have faith, and keep believing. But how? How do we keep believing and holding on when it seems as though we have waited so long for the manifestations of the promises? When, we have held onto faith and believed, as everything around us has launched a full-scale attack upon us? How can God possibly expect us to keep believing when it doesn't make any sense?

Because God knows what He has declared and decreed over our lives. He knows that if we continue to trust Him where we cannot trace Him; if we continue to have faith in the midst of adversity; if we continue to praise Him in the midst of heartache; if we continue to believe in spite of the hurt and disappointments; we will receive the full manifestations of what we have been waiting and pray for.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

I know how hard it can get sometimes. I know how devastating it can be to have waited so long, and be disappointed to the point that you want to just give up; give up on life, give up on faith; give up on God. I implore you to not give up. To keep holding on and exercising your faith.

Many times we look at the clock and we get overwhelmed by the time as we see it ticking past, and as we grow older. Our focus is no longer on what God has spoken and decreed in our lives, but it is focused on the time that is passing and how long we have waited.

God is always on time. And whatever He has promised it shall come to pass if we continue to believe and have faith, and do not let go or grow weary in our waiting. Yes; easier said than done. But just as any other muscle in our body, our faith is a muscle that needs to be worked out daily. It needs to be exercised on a daily basis, so that it may become strong and immovable.

The Father works in seasons. He is outside of time. And whatever God has spoken concerning your life, it will come to pass in dues season. Our focus must not be on time but on God. It must remain on the Father and not the circumstances. I am most certain Job felt the same; that he was doing everything right in his life; pleasing to God. Even he learned some things about his life. Yet God still blessed him double for what was taken.

I look at the Hebrew boys in the furnace. They were stolen from their homes. Stripped of their names and culture. But they held onto their faith. They believed God. Trusted God even as they were being thrown into the fire. Their faith remained so strong, that they understood that even death would still bring them the ultimate pleasure of being in the presence of God.

Consider Daniel. It would have been far easier to bow, but he refused to change or compromise his faith in God. It didn't make any sense; he'd represented God. Stayed true to his faith and worship, and his reward was to be thrown into the lion's den? He believed. Had faith in God to do just what He said.

How many of us can say the same? Especially in the times when things just don't make any sense? Will you remain faithful? Will you continue to believe and trust God? Will you keep the faith, and recognize that you have already won and that God will not make you ashamed?

Isaiah 61:7 “Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land, they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.”

I implore you to hold on. Even when it doesn't make any sense. Even when what you are experiencing seems counterproductive to the faith you have been exercising. Trust God. No matter what it looks like. Keep believing and speaking the word of God. We are declared the winners, regardless of what it may appear to be right now.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Though it may not make any sense the things you are faced with; have faith in God to see you through. Believe that God has a plan and purpose for your life and that even these setbacks and disappointments are all a part of making you ready for the manifestations of His blessings in your life. Have faith. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "Crossroads"

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

At times in the journey of our lives, we will come to a crossroads. And at these crossroads in life, we are going to have to make a decision—a decision that will not only impact our own lives, but those we love and associate with; those we may minister to; those we may have a responsibility to, and it will have a definite impact on our relationship with God.

There are various times or seasons in our lives when these crossroads appear; when these life changing moments occur. And it is in these seasons that we make a decision that will affect the rest of our lives. It will determine the direction in which our life's journey will continue. Are you at a crossroads today? Have you sought the Father and His wisdom? A crossroad is nothing we should ever take lightly, but always be prayerful about.

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration to your heart, mind, and soul. As you stand at the crossroads of your life, may you be wise in your decision in which way to go. Lean not to your own understanding, but trust in the Lord to direct your path.

What is a crossroad? A simple definition is an intersection of two or more roads. What is a crossroad in life? It is a point that you come to in life when you may not be certain of which is the right path to take. It is a moment when you come to a point in your walk, your life, your career, etcetera. You are hit with the proverbial fork in the road. And you have to decide, which path is going to bring you to the life that you desire. Which path is going to lead you to where you need to be.

There are two things about crossroads. One is that you may not be able to see down the line of its path. You cannot tell exactly which road is going to lead you to the desired life because at the start of the crossroads everything looks the same. Each path seems good or the right choice. And often times you do not know until you choose the path if you've chosen the right path for yourself.

The second thing is that there are crossroads that you know which is the right path to go. You know what you need to do. But often, the path that you should go is not the easiest path to take. It is narrow. At times it can seem restricted, lonely, and unpopular. While the other path seems to get you where you want to go sooner and with merriment. But the thing about that particular wide path of ease; you cannot see the hidden pitfalls and traps. You cannot see all the detours, detractors and the heartache and pain; because in the beginning, everything feels good and right. And what most who choose this path do not realize is, it's a dead end with a circle that goes round and round, and the only way out is destruction and death.

Are you at a crossroads today? Which crossroads are you at? The one where you are not sure? Is the crossroad where you are certain of the path to take but are having trouble making the right choice?

We've all been there. We've been at the fork in the road where we are not certain which path is going to lead us to where we desire to be in life. This is where we must allow our faith to lead us. Where we trust God where we cannot trace Him.

It's not an easy task. Mostly because we do not want to make a mistake and choose the wrong path. But, here's the wonderful thing: we can trust God to lead us. We can walk confidently in faith and trust that whichever path we take, God will be with us and guide us. And that, whatever road we take, as long as we stay connected to our Father, and lean not to our own understanding, we will be exactly where we need to be.

Or, are you that person that knows which road to take, but are having a difficult time in making the right decision? Many have been there as well. You know what road you should go. But it is not appealing to your flesh right now. You know what decision would be right, but there is a battle going on between your spirit man and the flesh.

You may even be running away from what you know is right. Trying to escape the responsibilities of this life. But be certain of this: whatever path you take, you are not the only one affected by your choice. Those you love are affected. Those God has assigned you to. Everything in your life will be affected by your choice between right and wrong. So, when you know which is the right road to take, and you choose the other; you do so with the understanding that, yes, the choice is yours, you are free to make it—but there will be consequences, and not just for you.

Life is going to be filled with many choices. We will stand at many crossroads. And we may not always choose the right path. Yet, God is faithful to bring us to where we need to be. To get us back on the right path. However, when we come to the crossroads in life, all we have to do is stand still and listen to the Father's instructions. Follow what He tells us. Be confident and have faith.

Sometimes we have to make a split second decision; unable to give long thought to what we should do. It can be a life and death situation. Have faith in the Father that you will make the right choice. Believe in yourself. For God has placed in us everything that we need to make it in this life and to make the tough decisions that come with this life.

The choices we make today will not only affect our lives and those in it. But it will have an impact for generations to come. We are all connected. Life connects us and the choices we make. If you are not sure which path to take when your standing at the crossroads, ask the Father and search your heart. Then take a leap of faith. If you're at the crossroads, and you know what is right, but maybe feeling fearful; let it go, and understand that, yes, the choice is always yours to make. But obedience to the Father will always trump sacrifice. And that the choice you make today, have sure enough consequences for not only you but others also.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity have found permanent rest in your lives. Life is a journey with crossroads. We may not always be certain of the path to take. But when you walk by faith, you know that God will never lead you astray. Do not be afraid to do what is right. Do not be afraid of a daunting task, when God said He's already declared you the winner. It's just your turn to pick up the cross. Remember: Jesus was at a crossroads in the garden of Gethsemane. “It’s Time to Let it Go”

“If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” Ephesians 4:21-24 (NASB)

Did you ever own a favorite article of clothing that you just couldn’t seem to part with? It wasn’t that the clothing itself was in fashion, or looked good on you, but it was tied to a memory; to an experience, that whenever you held this article of clothing it reminded of you of that time long ago.

We have a way of holding onto things from our past; be it an article of clothing, furniture, a keepsake, a memory, a way of thinking or behavior. Because we are not letting go, it is interfering with our present and our future. It’s time to let it go. It’s time to say goodbye to our old ways, and embrace what God has for us now.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement for your heart, mind, and soul. There is much that God desires to bring to pass in your life. Let this be the week that you release it all into the hands of God and trust Him with your now, and with your tomorrows.

As long as you hold on to what was, you will not be able to receive what God has for you now. So many of us are trapped in our past. We are trapped in a realm of hurt, pain, disappointments, and we have become stuck, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and even physically.

The truth of it is, many of us have been accustomed to a certain way of life. The enemy has convinced many that we are not worthy of the promises of God. We allowed the whispers of the enemy to take space in our minds, and take root in our hearts until we now believe his lies. By believing those lies, we sabotage our lives. We inhibit the Father from manifesting His blessings in our lives as He desires.

I am convinced that many people have a relationship with their past just as a victim of abuse has with their abuser. Many victims of abuse; especially domestic violence, have been abused in such a way that they start to believe that the abuse is their fault. Many ask the question as to why a person that is being abused just doesn’t leave the relationship. Why would anyone stay in a relationship that is so evidently toxic and painful?

What many feel to understand is that the abuser has slowly but steadily torn down the defenses and self-esteem of their victim. They have isolated them, stripped them of their voice, and work continually at manipulating them and those around them. It is the threats and whispers and the isolation that the victim succumbs to; giving up their will to fight; eventually believing that they are getting what they deserve, and are unworthy of anything or anyone better.

That is how it is with Satan. He is an abuser of our mind and soul. He tries to rape us daily with his lies, leaving us vulnerable, violated and without trust. He will use our past against us to try and keep us bound and from moving forward in the Lord. He will remind us of two things consistently: 1. who we were, and 2. what we did.

He will whisper lies and tells us that we are not worthy. He will remind us everything we ever did wrong, and plant seeds of doubt that God could never and would never use us. And if he cannot get you with that, he will try another scenario by making you long for your past. He will repeatedly bring pictures to your mind, people in your presence, to remind you of the sin which made you feel good at the time. That sin that made you forget about God and about responsibility. He will even try and convince you that you were better off without knowing God.

Here’s the real truth of the matter: If your past was so good to you; if your past held all the answers, then you would not have sought out God for His redemption and deliverance. Too many of us keep looking back. We know what we went through. We know the experiences we endured. We know what life was like; what our hearts were like without the Holy Spirit. Yet, we return to our past like a dog to its vomit. And we begin the torturous cycle all over again. Only this time, it is worse than before, because we have tasted and now know the goodness of our Lord.

Just as some victims return to their abuser, many of us will turn to our past. Why? Because it’s familiar. It’s what we know. It’s what we understand. Our minds have not been renewed or transformed. We allow the lies of the enemy to take root in our hearts and grow bitter and poisonous fruit in our lives. The fruit has grown with thorns; thorns that prick us, choke the good fruit, make us bleed, and cause us to hurt others in our lives.

We do not understand our worth and the abundance that God has for us because we are too busy holding on to memories and experiences of the past. We judge everything we do now by what our life was like before. We judge others based upon what we or others did to us in the past. We hold onto things and ways and thoughts, not because they are right, but because they are familiar, and we are comfortable with the dysfunction and disorder.

Everything we have done and have learned and have experienced before knowing Christ is corrupt. It must be filtered through the Holy Spirit, cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. God cannot pour into us all that He has ordained when we are filled with poisonous toxins from a life that was corrupt, filled with sin and deceit. In order to walk in the newness of Christ, then we must be willing to surrender all and lay down everything at the altar of God; putting the old man to death.

Our minds must be changed and renewed. For it is in the mind that it all begins. Whatever we think upon will eventually come to pass in our lives. It tells us in Isaiah that he who keeps his mind on Christ (on the things of God) will be kept in perfect peace.  Make no mistake: the carnal mind will always be against the Spirit. And until we yield completely, the enemy will take full advantage of his favorite place to reside: in the mind of man, which leads to the heart and actions of man.

Romans 8:7 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.”

Do not forfeit what God has for you now and in the future because you are comfortable with your past, or afraid of change and becoming the person God has called you to be. Let those things go! Release it to God. You cannot come to the throne with closed fists and a closed heart expecting Him to fill you. You cannot walk in the abundance of God and in His knowledge and wisdom with the mind of your past. It must be renewed and transformed each and every day.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Surrender it all to God. Every thought, every memory, every keepsake, every sin.  Allow Holy Spirit to breathe into you and place in your heart the very thing that God has ordained for you. Don’t give the enemy any more room to rent in your mind and heart. Present him with his eviction notice, and Jesus shows him the door. He’s been trespassing way, too, long! You are deserving of God’s best. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "You Already Are"

“You Already Are”

“And let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:4 NIV

Scripture Contemplation: John 1; Romans 8; 2 Corinthians 1; Hebrews 4…

I heard a lecture the other day concerning changing one’s perspective on self. It was interesting. The lecturer gave some pointers on how to begin the transformation on seeing one’s self in a different light. To see one’s self as flawless. The very first thing he said, was to say to yourself and believe: That There Is Nothing Wrong with Me.

The lecturer went on to discuss various points, and talk about what he was taught as a psychologist, and how they are taught to help their patients identify and accept what is wrong with them, so they can work on improving their lives.

It was a fascinating lecture, to say the least. To see what he was taught, and what he now believes. As he spoke, the Lord reminded me that has been His message to all of us from the beginning. That, He has created us whole and complete. That, we already are who He says we are; we just have to accept it, believe it, and begin walking in it.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections is a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. May you walk in the knowledge and wisdom of the Father, that you are already everything you need to be in this life. It is a matter of accepting, believing, and walking in your true identity that God has created you to be.

My relationship with the Father began at a very young age. I accepted the Lord as my Savior at the age of seven. But in my heart, I was already in a relationship long before that. I didn’t necessarily feel different, but I definitely felt set apart. But as I grew up and life happened, I forgot the simplicity of what I knew as a child; skewed by life experiences and what others were teaching.

As we navigate through this journey of life, we may find ourselves choosing sides and conforming to certain ways and thoughts of life. Some of us may find that we share much in common with others, while others feel no connection and isolated. And the lessons we learn may propel us toward God or away.

We may find ourselves living a life apart from God and doing things based upon our background, upbringing, what we were taught, exposed to, or told to do. Our environments help to shape us. But it is what we believe about ourselves and says to ourselves that make us. I firmly believe that we are not a product of our environment, but a product of our thoughts. There have been many that have risen above and out of deplorable environments. Their environments help to shape who they are, but it was their mindset/thoughts that made them.

What you think about yourself will come to pass. What you think on constantly will manifest. What you believe is what will be. A mind is a powerful tool. It is a powerful weapon. Is there no wonder why we are instructed to renew our mind daily? Why we should put on the mind of Christ? (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23) Or, charge us to pull down every stronghold; bring into captivity every negative thought? (2 Corinthians 10:4)

How different would your life be if you believed that you were everything that you already needed to be? What if you believed that you are already whole and complete? What would you do with that knowledge?

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. AMP

Depending upon our circumstances and situations in life, it may be hard to believe that we are already made whole and complete. That, we are already everything that God has ordained us to be; especially when we are not looking through the eyes of God but of man, and when we, ourselves, believe that we are only what we see in the mirror and what others have labeled us to be.

The world is the complete opposite of God. Why would we accept what this world has to say concerning who we are over who God declared us to be? This is a negative world we live in. It will always declare what is wrong before what is right. It will always point out your flaws before it recognizes your beauty. It will always want to fix what it believes needs fixing, before accepting or accentuating that which is good.

We are more than flesh, we are also spirit. The flesh will always war against the spirit. It will always fight against God and who we are in God. When we are connected to Holy Spirit, we come to an understanding that who we are in Him can and will be manifested in our daily lives when we accept it with all of our heart. God made us in His image. He breathed His breath into us. The true essence of who we are lies in Christ. And when we come to the Father and believe on Jesus, then the true essence of who we are is awakened. Who we are, who we will be, and who God ordained us to be is made alive.

Far too long we have judged ourselves by the standards of this world; always falling short of the mark. We struggle to become someone when God has created us whole and complete. When we connect with who we are spiritually; when we identify with the spirit of God in us; when we see ourselves whole and complete; then all else in our lives must line up with that knowledge. Everything must come in alignment with who we are; who the Father created us to be.

When you know the truth about who you are, and where you come from, it brings with it confidence and strength. The struggles you have had, and the battles you have faced, only become part of your arsenal to help someone else recognize their greatness and who God already created them to be. We have been sleeping a long time. It is time to wake up and throw off the covers that the enemy has placed over our heads to keep us from seeing the truth about ourselves.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity have found permanent rest in your lives. You already are a beautiful masterpiece. The Father has created you in His image and breathed His breath into your body. His spirit moves and lives in you. See through His eyes, and accept the gifts that He has given unto you. The price has already been paid in full. All you have to do is believe, receive, and walk in the truth. The true essence of you is found in what God has declared and decreed of you, and not what man thinks or says of you. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "Will You Trust in Him?

“Will You Trust in Him?”

“Those who trust in God are like Zion Mountain: Nothing can move it, a rock-solid mountain you can always depend on.” Psalm 125:1 (MSG)

Scripture Contemplation: Psalms 37; 40; 62:8; 91; 118:8; Daniel 6...

Trust is one of those words that many people throw around without really considering what it actually entails. Trust builds over time, but can be broken in a matter of seconds; sometimes becoming unrepairable. For many, once trust is lost it can never be regained, or it may never be quite the same, depending upon those involved in the relationship.

Many times trust is often broken when people break their word or do not keep their agreement. In terms of contracts; one may agree to a set of conditions with the trust that all parties involved will live up to their end of the deal. Should they not, the contract is revoked, and trust is broken, and any future associations or business deals will be avoided.

In our walk with the Lord, there are promises that God has ordained for our lives. There are things that God has spoken to us, and many of us have been waiting a long time for it to come to pass. What if it doesn't? What if what you have been believing for and trusting God for doesn't happen; will you still trust in Him?

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. As you live your lives, and you develop your intimate relationship with the Father, ask yourself how much do you truly trust God? Pull back the covers; expose the truth from the depths of your heart; and search and see if you may have a problem with trusting in what God has spoken over your life.

Once trust is broken, it is so hard to get back; so hard to rebuild. It is possible, though. Trust can be repaired and built again. It just depends on what you want and believes in your heart.

Many times people lose trust in someone because they did not live up to a certain expectation. There are times when the trust has been broken because of someone's actions or inaction. And many times, trust is broken because the word of another has not been followed through.

When it comes to your relationship with God; do you trust Him? Do you sincerely trust in the word of the Lord concerning your life? If you had to wait on the promises of God for a lengthy time, are you the type of person that would lose trust in Him? Would you allow your doubts become unbelief, and stop trusting what God has spoken concerning your life?

Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is the most deceitful thing there is and desperately wicked. No one can really know how bad it is! Only the Lord knows! He searches all hearts and examines deepest motives so he can give to each person his right reward, according to his deeds—how he has lived.” (The Living Bible)

We can be honest. God already knows our hearts. He knows what we are thinking before we think it. Yet, the truth is that many have deceived themselves into believing that they sincerely trust the Lord. That, their trust in Him has not wavered. They lie to themselves, and their very actions tell on them.

If we sincerely trusted in Him—100%; then why do so many of us take things into our own hands? Why are so many of us leaning to our own understanding? Why have so many us turned from God, then blame Him or others for the hardships we fall into and created with our mistrust?

Genesis 16:1-4 “Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go into my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. So he went into Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.”

There are times when God will speak a word to our hearts; we have waited and waited upon His promises to manifest only to grow weary and feel as though it will never happen. Some of us may grow desperate, taking matters into our own hands, and will find that we have created chaos as a result of not trusting in God.

What if it never happened? What if what God promised never came to pass? Would you still trust God? Would still love and believe God? Or, is your trust in God based upon what He can do for you? What if you lost everything? What if you were up one day, and in a matter of twenty-four hours everything changed for the worse? Would you still trust in Him? Or, would you blame God?

Job 32:1-2 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was [rigidly] righteous (upright and in right standing with God) in his own eyes. [But there was a fifth man there also.] Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became indignant. His indignation was kindled against Job because he justified himself rather than God [even made himself out to be better than God].(AMP)

Do we really know and understand the heart of God? God's ways and thoughts are far above man. However, when we are of Him, we have the ability to walk in the spirit; to connect our spirit with the Holy Spirit and learn of Him and know what is on the mind of God.

When you understand the mind of God and learn of His plans for your life, your trust in Him will not be based upon what He can give you, or what He will do for you, or even His promises to you. Your trust in God comes from the mere fact that you love Him. That, you know the heart of your Father. That, you have come to understand His ways and follow His precepts and have come to love as He does: unconditional. Not based upon deeds or gifts or promises. For the gift of Christ alone, the Father deserves our eternal trust.

Jeremiah 17:7-8“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers—Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.” (MSG)

I'm sticking with God. I am trusting in God no matter what comes my way. And believe me: I have had my share of disappointments, hurts, and downright heartache and heartbreak. Yet will I trust God. The love in my heart for my Father propels me to trust Him. To trust Him where I cannot trace Him. Trust in my Father is my anchor in the times of storms. It gives me something to hold onto; something to tie my faith too. And if by chance what He has promised does not come to pass; then knowing my Father as I do; I have to believe that there is something far greater on the horizon, and that was God's plan all along.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Do not lose trust in God because the wait has been so long, or certain things have not come to pass. Trust God where you cannot trace Him. God always has what's best for you; even when you cannot see it or believe it for yourself. God's blessings add no sorrows. His gifts to you are with no strings attached. Though you may grow weary, anchor yourself in the Lord. Let your trust in the Father keep you firmly planted and rooted; especially when disappointments and discouragement come. Don't give up, but keep trusting and serving the Lord. He loves you more than you know! You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Reflections4Life: "But By His Spirit"

“But By His Spirit”

“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6

Scripture Contemplation: Zechariah 4; 1 Corinthians 2…

I am fairly certain that in and of myself, I am no one. I have no power. I have no real wisdom. I have no way to persuade you of the love and kindness of God. I understand, that apart from God, I have nothing. All that I would attempt to do of myself and of my own might is futile.

What about yourself? Do you believe that you have, aside from God, power? The kind of power that makes a difference? Sure, you may say that there are countless godless people on this earth that have power and have made a name for themselves. Some of them that are even morally upstanding. That may be so, but the word tells us that it rains on the just and the unjust alike. And that the gifts are without repentance.

I’m talking about the ability to change hearts, to renew minds, to restore hope…for eternity. I’m talking about living a life that is sold out to Christ, and gaining the understanding that all that you do or will ever do, is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of God. I’m talking about knowing the heart of God. Knowing the thoughts of God that He only reveals to those in a relationship with Him.

I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. May the Spirit of God rest in you and connect with your spirit, that you may know and understand the will of God for your life, and also the things of God that can only be revealed through His Spirit.

I am far from a know it all. Nor do I pretend or believe that I know everything or that I am always right. Although, I have been accused of such. Why? Because when I have said something it rang true? Or, because what I have spoken has come to pass? Or, because I struck a nerve and made you feel uneasy with the truth that you believed no one knew?

Trust me, it is not I, but the Spirit of my Father that resides in me. It is the Christ in me that knows all things. And when I yield to Him, He reveals things that I need to know or He desires for me to know. I am not psychic; my spirit is just connected with the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

For those who have no relationship with the Father, they can never know or even comprehend the mind of God and what He has prepared for His children. They could never fathom it. But for those of us who love the Lord; who have entered into a relationship with God; there is much God has prepared for us and has to reveal to us.

Many of us do not connect with God. Sure, we talk to God. We pray to God when we have a need. We thank Him, occasionally, when things are going well. But we have no real relationship with the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit.

We live our lives with limited intimacy with our Creator. Even as Christians, we have this “I can do anything” or “I don’t need any help” kind of attitudes that separate us from the guidance and protection of the very One who came to save us.

Revelation and illumination of the Word come when we understand that it is not by our own might or any power we may think we have that gets things done. It is all by the Spirit of our loving God, who has ordained a life for us that is far more greater than one could ever imagine if we would just yield and connect with the Spirit of God.

God is with us. He desires for us to know what He knows. There is never a need for us to compare our lives to another and feel inadequate or unworthy when we serve a great God who has availed Himself to us and has made it possible for us to walk in confidence and wisdom, because of Christ who lives in us. Nor do we have to walk in the wisdom of the world and sell our souls.

1 Corinthians 2:10-13 (MSG) “The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dive into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along. Whoever knows what you’re thinking and planning except you yourself? The same with God—except that he not only knows what he’s thinking, but he lets us in on it. God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he is giving us. We don’t have to rely on the world’s guesses and opinions. We didn’t learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we’re passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.”

We live in this world, but we are not of this world. And we have a precious gift that guarantees us the victory each and every time: Christ Jesus. The unspiritual will never understand the things of God. They will never have access to the gifts of the Spirit, and the wisdom that comes from walking in Him.

Most certainly there are those in this world that seems to have it all. But only what you do for God will last. And those that are walking in the Spirit, understand that this (earth) is not where it ends. For there is an eternity that we are working towards. And what we do here upon this earth; what we believe; determines where we spend our eternity.

Stop trying to figure out this world, your life, and how to get to the next level. Stop trying and start yielding. Yield to the Spirit of God. Become one with your Creator. And all that He has ordained for your life will come to pass. His Spirit will connect with your spirit and will reveal marvelous things that you would have never imagined. Trials and tests will still occur. Tragedies may happen. But you will not have to get through it of your own might or power. Holy Spirit will be there with you; guiding you, comforting you, and teaching you.

I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in every area of your lives. We can never outdo God. We can never know more than the Father. Nor do we have to walk in ignorance and uncertainty. When we yield to the Spirit, He will fill us with His wisdom and tell us things that will change our lives forever. God has some things He desires to share with us. Things that will help us to become who He has ordained us to be. And things that will help us expand the Kingdom of Heaven. There are many waiting for the truth. And you are the epistle that God wants to write His truth in, so that when people see you, they see God, and know that they, too, can have a life that is full of joy and peace despite any circumstance they may have experienced or are in. Be the Word in this earth. Let the Christ in you come forth. Let the Spirit do His will. Yield. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing.

Reflections4Life: "What Are You Saying?"

“What Are You Saying?”

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth.” Luke 21:33-35

Scripture Contemplation: Proverbs 4; Lamentations 2; Matthew 6:25; Romans 6; 8; Ephesians 4...

We are only on the 26^th day of the new year, and I can aptly say that it has been one revelation after another; along with tests, trials, and attacks from the enemy. Yet, the revelations and the goodness of my God outweigh the bad each and every time.

Through every attack, every trial and hardship, one thing has ringed the most in my soul: “What is my life saying about God?” What am I saying (my actions, my deeds) when I am going through a battle? Is my speech of defeat? Is it negative? Does it speak of faith? Is my life reflecting who I say God is?

There will always be trials in our lives. However, when those trials come, what are you saying? What is your life, your walk, speaking of you?

I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. May you be cognizant of the what your life is saying to you and your relationship with God. May you continue to walk in the goodness and promises of God, no matter what comes your way. May you stand strong in the Father, who enables you to withstand all matter of storms.

My beautiful friend went home to be with the Lord on yesterday morning. Her transition has me thinking, going over my own life. I suppose we do that when someone we love passes. We look at our own life and our own mortality. Yet, for those of us in Christ, we know that death from this earth is not the end; just the beginning.

I thought about how my dear friend lived her life. What an example of Christ she portrayed. Her life touched many people. Her love extended far and wide. To me, her life spoke of kindness, love, forgiveness, hope, faith, and laughter, even in the midst of excruciating pain. She leaves a legacy of greatness for those who loved and knew her. But more importantly, she lived it. Every day; even through sickness and pain, she would reach forward and bring light and laughter to others.

This train of thought left me wondering—how many of us are aware of what we are saying? Do we pay attention to what our lives are speaking? Do our lives line up with what our mouths have been confessing? Do our lives exemplify the life we say we are living in Christ? Would anyone know by our actions alone, if we were believers and loved the Lord? Would our life lead another to Christ? Would they want to partake in the goodness of God just by what our lives have been speaking?

I believe that actions are truly louder than words. People will hear what we say, but they look at what we do. There are many that have shunned a relationship with God because we, believers, have not exemplified a life that would draw others unto Christ. Perhaps it is because we have not fully believed ourselves. Maybe we have not totally sold out our heart and soul to Christ.

This is what I know for certain; God has many things He desires to do for us upon this earth. Many prayers He desires to bring to fruition. Many blessings He desires to manifest in our lives. Yet, for many of us who call ourselves believers, we have fallen short in our faith. We have suffered some setbacks, and have yet to fully come back. We have fallen, and have given up trying to get back up. And in this state, we have developed a spirit of self-pity, self-doubt, unbelief in God, and no trust in what God has spoken concerning our lives.

Sure; we will go to church, and say the right words, but our hearts are speaking loud and clear. Our hearts are affecting our actions. And the message we are portraying is not one of faith, love, trust, and belief. But one of doubt, fear, regrets, and unbelief.

When are we going to let go and really let God have His way? When are we going to honestly trust in God and give Him all of us? When will we go through a test or trial, and maintain our position in the Lord, and not back down, but continue to hold onto faith and God's unchanging hands?

It's been three weeks now since my body has been attacked by the flu. I have never had the flu before. And let me tell you; it kicked my behind! Yet, I continued to pray and believe God for my complete healing to manifest. This past Friday, I had to go to the hospital. I was having trouble breathing, my chest was tight, this cough would not leave, my voice is still not back. I just prayed they wouldn't keep me since I do not have a fondness for hospitals.

Six hours in that ER. As I was hooked up to an IV (I was severely dehydrated), taking a breathing treatment, blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, and all that good stuff; I just kept saying I wanted to go home. I sat in that room for two hours by myself. During those two hours before the nurse came back, I heard different people coming in. When I first arrived, there really was no one there. But by the time I was ready to leave, it was packed. I sat there, and I heard God say: pray. I admit I felt myself feeling sorry for myself. But I knew what many others don't know: that prayer works and that my God is a healer. So I got out of myself and began to pray for those around me. I prayed for their healing. I thought of my dear friend, wondering how she was doing and prayed for her comfort.

During this time of sickness and recovery, I have learned so many things about people and myself and reminded of the goodness of my God. I know that it is very easy to give up and be negative when your body is wracked with pain. But, it takes much more strength and faith to keep praising God through the affliction. I learned that if you don't ask for help, or reach out to others in your time of need, then how can you receive what it is you need? God places us here for one another. We cannot do everything alone. Also, this is a great time to find out who people really are, and what lies within their hearts. God is awesome. He will use ANY situation to show you His grace, and the truth about yourself and others.

I want my life to speak well of Christ. I desire to be that walking epistle that draws others into a relationship with the Heavenly Father. I desire to not only leave a legacy, but leave a legacy of greatness by totally surrendering to God, and allowing Him to use me; even in my most testing and trying times.

What are you saying? What is your life speaking of you? What is your legacy? Do people see the love of God when they encounter you? Or, are they turned off by your attitude? Do your actions line up with your confession? Has life overwhelmed you so that you have given up? Well, I have good news for you; if you are able to read this or hear this, then you are alive, and that means you still have the opportunity to let God turn it all around. Your past does not matter to God. Your past, any mistakes, does not define who you are. What God says about you, defines who you are. You are not your past. You are who God says you are and has ordained you from the beginning. So, let God change your dialogue. It's time.

I decree that the spirit of peace and of prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives. Your life has been speaking for you a long time. Let God reboot you, and give your life a new sound and a new word. You are more than your past and your experiences. You are who God says you are. It is time to let your life start speaking the truth. The truth of who you are, and who God is. Tests and trials will come. Not to destroy you, but to break you and shape you into the vessel that God calls His masterpiece. Let your life speak well of you and God, and draw others to the saving grace of Christ. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!
