"Behind The Masks"

Reflections4Life April 19th, 2015
“Behind The Masks”
“…But Jesus’ primary concern was his disciples. He said to them, “Watch yourselves carefully so you don’t get contaminated with Pharisee yeast, Pharisee phoniness. You can’t keep your true self hidden forever; before long you’ll be exposed. You can’t hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. You can’t whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the day’s coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town.” Luke 12:1-3
Scripture Contemplation: Genesis 3; Matthew 5; 2 Corinthians 4…

It is amazing how many are hiding who they truly are. Whether it's because of fear, shame, insecurities or deception; there are countless people who are not being their authentic selves.
We can fool people only for so long before the truth comes knocking at our doors, demanding payment. Once we lie, we have to keep lying just to cover up the very first lie. Some have lied so much and have worn a mask for so long that, they now believe their own deception as fact and utter truth.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Be who you are without trepidation. Allow Holy Spirit to teach you and lead you into all truth. Allow God to remove any fear or shame, and give you confidence and boldness. Own the masterpiece He created you to be.
For all the lies and deception, we can never lie to God. No matter how many masks we wear, He still sees us for who we truly are. He knows our heart, and He knows our reasons for doing the things we do.
God warns us to be truthful. He gives us the opportunity to pull the masks off, and to begin walking in truth. He knocks on the doors of our hearts. He sends word through His messengers, through circumstances and situations. He affords us the opportunity to turn things around in private before we are exposed publicly.
Some of us just do not heed the warnings and find ourselves in unfavorable situations, trying to do damage control.
Social Media has allowed some people to hide behind a screen as their mask. Becoming who they want to be; portraying a lie to the world around them. Many are not happy with who they are, or where they come from. So, they either create new identities for themselves, worse they steal someone else’s.
The masks we hide behind have a tendency to weld itself to us like a vice grip the longer we wear them. We find it hard to release because we have lived the lie for so long that the truth is no longer recognized. We eventually lose who we truly are.
Do yourself a favor and drop the masks. Be who you are. Whether or not people accept you, like you, reject you or hate you; be true to who you are. Stand in your truth. No one can be a better you than you can. Don't fall for the smoke and mirrors of the world around you. Don't be that person who constantly lies to cover up the first lie. Stop deceiving people. Stop deceiving yourself.  Because in the end, when the truth is revealed...and the truth is ALWAYS revealed; you may find yourself alone and the one carrying the most pain.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Live and walk in truth. Don't hide behind a mask. Don’t try to be someone you’re not just to be accepted or to please another, or to practice to deceive just to get what you want. Own who you are and walk with confidence. And whatever is meant for you; you will eventually receive at the right time and season. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing.

"Do Over!"

Reflections4Life April 12th, 2015
“Do Over!”
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25
Scripture Contemplation: Isaiah 57; Jeremiah 30; Joel 2…

There are times in our lives when we want a do over. Let's face it; we can royally screw up sometimes. Make the most outrageous mistakes, and cause a lot of pain in the process.
Thank God for do-overs! The chance to begin again. Sure, there are things we will never be able to fix or repair. There are some relationships that will never be mended. However, as we start over in our lives, God will grant us do-overs in some situations of our lives.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Allow Holy Spirit to move freely in your life, bringing comfort, understanding, and change. Be open to the will of God, and you may receive an opportunity that you thought would never come.
Maybe we burned some bridges along the way. Destroyed some friendships in the process. Perhaps a marriage or relationship didn't end well. As we move on, starting our lives over; God may also, at some point when we are ready, grant us a do-over. A do over at love and relationships and marriage.
I realized a while ago, that though we may royally blow things; we may have caused much hurt and pain in relationships, and have failed in our lives too many times to count; God can grant us a do-over. A chance to get things right a second time around. An opportunity to make the right choices.
When we start over, we are beginning again with a clean slate. But not everyone gets a chance at a do-over. A do over in marriage, relationships, even parenthood. There is a difference in starting over and a do over, in my opinion. We can start fresh; get a new lease on life. However, we do not always get a second shot at relationships, marriage, or parenthood. We don’t always get a do-over for certain careers and opportunities that were available to us the first time around. Sadly, sometimes it’s true when they say that ship has sailed. Yet, there are some situations where we get the opportunity at a do-over. A chance to be that better wife or husband. To be that parent we wished we were back then. To do a job the way it should be done.
Some of us fail miserably the first time around. And by the Blessings of God, we may find ourselves in a situation where we get a do over. A chance to be the person you should have been in the first place
One of the wonderful things about God is His power of restoration. As we start our lives, God has the power to restore that which was lost. To grant us, a do-over at the things we failed at miserably.
Thank God for His second, third, fourth and fifth chances! It's by His mercies and goodness that we have not been destroyed by our foolishness but granted a do-over to do things right. You have a second chance at life when you received Christ. What is there, if anything, would you like to do over in your life? What mistakes or royal screw-ups have you committed, that if you had the opportunity to do it all over again, you would? God has the power to restore you and grant you that do over.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Don’t give up on life because you may have made the wrong choices. Allow God to restore you and bless you with a second chance at life. Allow His forgiveness to wash over you. There just may be a do over in your life, as well as your second chance. A do-over for what you thought was long over and impossible. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing.

"Happy Resurrection Sunday!"

Reflections4Life  April 5th, 2015

“Happy Resurrection Sunday!”

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.  2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Scripture Contemplation: John 11; 20; 21; 1 Corinthians 15…

Good day Beautiful Souls. Regardless to what you celebrate or believe; Resurrection or Easter-- I wish you and your family a beautiful day of joy, happiness and love with one another. Make every moment count.

This Resurrection Sunday is quite difficult for me without my mom. Especially knowing how much this season meant to her. Yet, it is because of this very season and its reason that I can be comforted in knowing where my mom is, with whom, and that I will see her again.

I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. I pray this Resurrection Sunday be one of healing and restoration. May everything in your life that should not have died, be resurrected by the power and love of our Heavenly Father.

I am determined to walk in my faith and draw strength from it, allowing this season to have its place in my heart; holding on to its promises. I will relish in the love and joy from not just today, but from throughout the years. I will take comfort in my memories, and hold closely to my heart the many lessons my mother taught me.

We spend a lot of time with regrets and stewing over what should have or could have been. Instead, we can take the lessons of yesterday, learn from them, and receive what God has for us today.

Eternal life was guaranteed us over 2,000 years ago. The promise of life eternally with our heavenly Father, and those who have gone before us in Christ. I am collecting on that guarantee. And I will live my life accordingly; in gratitude and faith for all that was sacrificed for me.

The magnitude of what Christ did so many generations ago continues to impact many lives today. For every believer, I hope that you can draw from the strength of the fruit of the seeds planted so long ago. That, you can walk with the knowledge and understanding of what Christ did for each and every one of us. And I hope, that your life can be a walking epistle for all that do not know the power and love of Christ’s saving grace.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Enjoy your day. Enjoy your loved ones. Take advantage of life and its many joys. We spend far too much time worrying, when the greatest threat to us has been dealt with, when Christ went to the Cross, died for us, and was resurrected to the enemy's chagrin. Live. Laugh. Love. Jesus has already paid it all. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing!

"Out The Box"

Reflections4Life March 29th, 2015

“Out The Box”

“Then He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone’?” Luke 20:17

Scripture Contemplation: Psalm 118; Matthew 13; Mark 11; Luke 4; John 12…

Happy Palm Sunday!

There is a certain freedom that comes when you walk in your truth, and stop living to please and placate others, but live your life as you will, with a desire to please God alone.

Certainly you would love for those who love you to always understand and accept you for who you truly are, and not for whom they think you are or should be. But people are people, and sometimes they just don't get it, nor do they see it. And sometimes, they will see what they want to see.

I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. As we celebrate this Palm Sunday, let us remember all that led to cost of our redemption. And hold in our hearts, that the price has already been paid, and there is no one left to charge us, when Jesus has handled the bill.

People have the tendency to put you in a box; see you through one lens when there are so many different components to who you are. I suppose, as we celebrate Palm Sunday, one may be able to identify with the life of Christ. Many saw Him as Rabbi, teacher, friend, and miracle worker. Some saw Him as a threat. But few saw Him as the Son of God or the Savior. For many, He was defined as the carpenter’s son. No one special. Nothing more or less. Having placed him in a box in their mind and hearts, they could not receive Him any other way or receive the blessing of His truth. For Christ, it hurt that they could not believe. Not for His sake, but for theirs. He knew who He was; even when others did not and would not accept it.

I cannot help but to be grateful for all that Jesus has done. For giving His life. For sticking to the plan and not being deterred by the opinions of those who only knew and could only see and accept Him as the son of a Carpenter, and not for the promised Savior that was prophesied.

How many of you have allowed people to place you in a box? How many have allowed the opinions and the need for another's acceptance to determine what you do and what you believe about yourself?
I thank God for the mother I had. She encouraged me to stand in my truth and discover all of me, and be comfortable in my skin. She knew I was more than what people saw or believed. She understood a box could never contain me. God created so much greatness in me, that it won't allow me to be defined by a few titles that some give me. No. I am a child of God with many different attributes. Walking in my greatness. And enjoying and discovering the many facets of me. I pray the same for you. Blessings.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Don’t allow the opinions and the short-sightedness of others to confine you to a box. To, make you limit yourself to one fact, so you may please and be accepted by others. God has created greatness in you. There is more inside you and about you than what meets the eye. More than where you come from or what you were born into. You are who God says you are, and who you believe yourself to be. No limits. Dare to live outside the box. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing!

"Live, Laugh, Love"

Reflections4Life March 22nd, 2015

“Live, Laugh, Love”

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4

Scripture Contemplation: Psalm 81; James 1…

Live, laugh, love. Three small yet powerful words. Words we sometimes forget. Sometimes take for granted. And sometimes have no clue as to how or where to begin.

For some of us, it's far easier said than done. For others, it's a facade they live behind to hide the truth from the world of what is truly going on. To hide the pain, hurt, and disappointment; and even shame.

I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Move forward through difficult times by clinging to the hand of God. Allow Holy Spirit to comfort you, and teach you how to live, laugh, and love through the most solemn and painful times of your life.

Many of us don't even know where to begin. Our lives have been a series of monumental let downs. To live? What for? To laugh? At what? To love? Who? They struggle to love themselves. And to love others seems like a risk with very few benefits, but a whole lot of potential for heartbreak.
Our life's journey will be filled with many different paths and opportunities that we must choose. Hopefully, we make the wise decision. However, we do have a pension for not doing so all the time. Yet, even the wise paths still have its tests and trials. We will be faced with some difficulties, situations and circumstances that will have us questioning ourselves, and the ability to live, laugh, and love.

What I come to know for certain is, that those three small yet powerful words are a choice. Our choice. No matter what we face in life. No matter how difficult and painful our life journey may get; to live, laugh, and love is a choice we make.

As children, people choose for us. As grow, and hopefully mature, we make our own decisions. And whether the outcome is favorable or not, we still have a choice. We have a choice to respond or react. We have the choice to give up or press on. We have the choice to keep living life, finding laughter where we can, and continuing to love—give love, receive love, show love—regardless to our experiences.

There will always be hard times. We will more than likely be disappointed in life at one time or another. Our tests and trials will seem insurmountable. And that's when we must choose to continue to live, laugh, and love in spite of it all, and any previous painful experiences. It is a choice to move forward, or stay and give up. As children of God, we must remember: greater is He in us than he that is in this world. We can make it. No matter what it looks like right now.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. I choose to live, laugh, and love. Even when it is the most difficult thing to do. I learned that from my mother. And I pray that whatever is going on in your life, that in spite of it all, you will choose also to live, laugh, and love. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing!

"Acceptance"

Reflections4Life  March 15, 2015

"Acceptance"

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light..." 1 Peter 2:9
Scripture Contemplation: Isaiah 65; 2 Corinthians 5; Galatians 6; 1 Peter 2...

I sincerely pray for you, that today and each day that follows is filled with happiness, joy, peace, love and acceptance.
Why is it so hard for us to accept what God says about us, but readily believe what the enemy and his minions have to say concerning us?
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let your heart and mind be filled with the peace and love of God. Accept who the Father has called you to be. Rest in His truth and do not be deterred by the lies of the enemy.
We live in such a world that tearing one another down, pointing out one's flaws, and degrading someone is acceptable behavior. Well, it's not, Beloveds. That is not what God wants us to accept and believe about ourselves.
Even when we mess up, make mistakes, willfully sin, He still wants us to know, that we are better than that. Our past, our mistakes, and failures do not define who we are. Who God says we are; who He has declared us to be is, what truth is. Even if it takes us a while to get there.
We must learn to accept and believe what God says concerning who we are, and stop listening to the negativity and lies, and hurtful words of those who do not know our heart or the first thing about who God called us to be. Ignore them; even if it is your own family. You are your own person who God says there is greatness in, waiting to come forth. Accept it Beloved. Accept the truth. Accept yourself. Accept the greatness in you.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Let your heart dwell on the truth of who God says you are. Let your heart be filled with acceptance and abundant love for the person that you are, and God has decreed you to be. Evict the enemy from your thoughts and your heart. Allow God to bring healing as you walk in the greatness that is you. You are blessed. Now go and be a blessing.

"Grace and Peace"

Reflections4Life  March 8, 2015

"Grace and Peace."

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Scripture Contemplation: Ephesians 2; Esther 2; Job 41; Psalm 84; Isaiah 12; 42; Philipians 4...

It is another new day, and surely it is because the blessing of God that we were not consumed by deeds of yesterday. The blessing of life, of a brand new day, should be celebrated. For we get another opportunity to get things right. To let our souls become intimately acquainted with the Lord.

I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let your heart be filled with grace and peace of the Father. Allow the grace of God to cover you, as His peace envelops you.

This past Friday, my mother's life was celebrated, as we gathered for her home-going services. There were tears, but there was also laughter, praise, and shouting of the goodness of God. Just like my mom would have wanted.

My mother was not always saved. She had one hell of a past! As my brother stated to those gathered: "You all know Sister Pat, but I knew her well before that!" As my mother's relationship grew with the Lord, she would try and reach as many people as she could, for God. As she said: "If I can party and sin that hard with all my might, and get people to follow me, then surely I owe the Lord just as much, if not more, dedication considering the grace and peace He showed a sinner like me."

Each time someone would call, my mom's greeting was the same: Grace and Peace. Without fail, whether she felt well or not; or if she was half sleep, you'd hear, grace and peace. My niece asked her why she answered like that. My mother stated they are words of blessings being decreed over each caller’s life. And a reminder, that if it had not been for God's grace, she couldn't make it. And if she didn't have His peace, she would have lost her mind and life long ago. But because of God's grace and peace, she lived to tell her testimony and all the things that God did for her.

There are not enough words to describe the loss I feel in my soul because my mother's physical presence is not here. Yet, I feel her all around me. Her love, her lessons, her laughter—they are all a part of me. It brings me comfort to know that she is resting well. That, she is now praise dancing before our Lord.

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Grace and peace. Two small but powerful words that can completely change our lives. May God's grace be sufficient for you; to keep you and carry you through all that you go through. And may the peace that surpasses all understanding, rest in your heart, mind, and soul. You are blessed. Now go...and be a blessing!

"A Grateful Disposition"

Reflections4Life March 1, 2015
A Grateful Disposition.”
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Scripture Contemplations: Romans 14; Ephesians 5; Colossians 3; 1 Corinthians 2…
Nothing compares to a person with a grateful heart. A person that has taken a stance to have a grateful disposition regardless to what is happening in their lives or around them.
There is much that has happened in our lives, and much that will happen. It is the disposition of our hearts that will determine the kind of journey we encounter, and how long certain trials and tests last.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let your heart be filled with joy and the love of the Father. Allow Him to guard your heart and you navigate through the trials of this life. Let your heart be content with God, having the characteristic of gratitude, because you know and understand that no matter what happens in this life, God will always have your back.
As I navigate through the pain of my mother's transition, I cannot help but to be grateful for the years I was blessed to have with her in this earth. My mother was a woman of substance. A woman who understood matters of the heart and the importance of having a grateful disposition.
There are things that lie behind us, and things that lie before us. Many things that we have no control over. But the most powerful thing is that which lies within us. What we carry in our hearts holds the power to change lives, to affect the course of our life journey, and touch the lives of many.
A grateful disposition allows us to walk through difficulties and not give up. It allows us to maintain hope in a hopeless situation. It encourages us to believe when it seems impossible, and whispers that miracles still happen; just in ways we may not understand.
Things will not always go the way we desire. Life happens, and it is not always sweet, delightful, or to our liking. Pain and suffering will occur. Loss will be felt. However, there will also be joy and happiness. There will be good times, and moments when things do go our way. But whether things do or don’t (go our way), we must maintain a disposition of gratitude. We must hold a place in our hearts that will be grateful; even if it’s just having gratitude for one more breath of life.
My pain is palpable, at best. I feel like I am in a fog with my mother no longer here in the flesh to hold, kiss and hug. Yet, I am grateful for the time we had. For the lessons, she taught me, the life she gave and provided for me. Her laughter, her wisdom, her love…all living on within myself and my brothers and her grandchildren. Life goes on. And I take comfort in the fact that this is not a goodbye, but: “I’ll see you later," which allows me to smile through the pain.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that every good thing that God has ordained for your life will become evident to you. Let your disposition be one of gratitude. No matter the trials and the tests, let your heart be rooted in gratitude. For, it will lead you to a place of peace and understanding. You are blessed, now go and be a blessing.

"Lessons My Mama Taught Me"

Reflections4Life February 22, 2015

"Lessons My Mama Taught Me"

I am doing things a little different this Sunday. I pray that this week is filled with much joy and happiness for you. May you treasure the gift of love and take advantage of the presence of your parents. Because you never know when there will be no tomorrow.

I can only write today's #Reflections4Life because of what my mother has taught me. I cried for a very long time this morning. How can I write or even think of anything when my heart is so heavy? When, it hurts so bad I can't catch my breath? Then I remember what my Mama taught me. The lessons I have learned and gleaned from her. She was a very wise woman. I am still processing the fact that she is gone. It's still not real.

I chose this pic, taken nine years ago. It was one of my Mama's favorite, primarily because she took it!

I was sitting on the foot of her bed. She said she had some beautiful children. I wasn't feeling so beautiful at the time.

That day, she poured her love and into me as only a Mama could. She reminded me of true beauty, the beauty of the heart and its value. She told me how proud she was of me and the things I had accomplished and was venturing into. She reminded me of the importance of loving myself and having an intimate and solid relationship with God. That, our time with the Creator should always come first and from the heart, and not as a last resort. She taught me the importance of saying no. Not to allow people to monopolize and take advantage of my huge heart.

My mother taught me that when you walk with God, and have an intimate relationship, it eradicates negativity in your life, it strengthens you for the road ahead, it prepares you for the many ups and downs and the unexpected. It allows you to see through different eyes.
What she taught me also, is that life goes on. And should she leave this earth before Christ's return, to know and remember: to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. That she has the better deal out of the two of us.  And that, I may grieve and mourn but life goes on. To do what I do, and do it well, because she will be watching from her new view from the heavens above.

How can I not move forward and be comforted with these kind of lessons?

"Faith over Fear"

Reflections4Life February 15, 2015

“Faith over Fear.”

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7

Scripture Contemplation: Hebrews 11; 2 Timothy 1; 1 Peter 5; Matthew 8; 9; 1 Corinthians 2; James 1; 5…

There are so many things that we experience in our lifetime. Our life journey is filled with the good, the bad, the ugly, the unexpected, the awesome, and the heartbreak. Our experiences can either cause us to lose faith and fear life. Or, they can make us stronger; increasing our faith and kicking fear in the rear. Either way...we will be changed in some way by our life's experiences.

I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Throughout the trials and tests of life, remember to let God lead you and to guard your heart. Knowing that God knows what to do and just what you need, and He has already done it. You just have to continue to believe and continue to choose faith over fear.

Honestly Speaking, I was not sure if I was going to write today’s Reflections. Then I thought about it: We already have the victory. The devil has been defeated. So, I am not going to wallow in my emotions or feelings. But instead, stand on my post, complete my assignment, and continue to believe God; taking Him at His word, claim the victory and kick fear in the rear by choosing to stand in my faith!

Sometimes things occur in life suddenly. It takes us for a loop. Many of us are knocked down, and sometimes do not get back up because we are afraid of what may occur next. It’s life. Things happen. But, when God has made a promise to you, you have to remind God and yourself of those promises. NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION LOOKS LIKE. God cannot lie. And as long as you continue to walk in faith, believe the word of God and do not heed to that spirit of fear, you will have the victory and see the promises manifest.

Of course, the journey is not easy. And the battle is not light. However,  through it all, God has us covered. We just have to speak His word, stand on His word, believe His word, and not accept any negative reports. Whose report will you believe? I will believe the report of the Lord.

And remember: It’s not about your strength, but about God’s Spirit.  “…not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord.” Zechariah 4:6

My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that you are strengthened by the love and power of God in your lives today. Choose today and commit in your heart to choose faith over fear. Do not allow the situations you encounter in your life's journey to strip you of faith and condition your heart to fear. Life is not easy. And we will encounter some very difficult times. But it is our ability to choose faith over fear that will see us through. You are blessed. Now go…and be a blessing.

"All About The Love"

Reflections4Life February 8th, 2015
“All About the Love”
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1
Scripture Contemplation: John 3; 1 Corinthians 13; 2 Corinthians 2; Galatians 5; James 2…

I've heard many say that love hurts. That, they do not believe in love. Or, that they will never give their all to someone just to be hurt. And if someone hurts them, they will never forget.
Love does not hurt, Beloveds. Hurt people hurt people. People who have been disappointed in relationships and have built up walls hurt not only others, but themselves as well. How can you receive and believe in true, sincere, unconditional love if you do not allow yourself to be vulnerable when it comes to love? With the Father, is all about the love. God Love.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let love in. Let the cleansing, healing, powerful love that is God come into your hearts and reside. Do not close yourself off because of the past. Be renewed as you let go of what was, and receive what God has for you this day.
It is not easy to let go of the past and its hurts. Some of us are haunted and carry baggage from past relationships that have left us scarred and broken. God can heal those scars and relieve you of that baggage if you would allow Him access to your heart.
There is something mighty powerful, healing and soothing about the love of God. It cleanses our hearts and gives us a new lease on life and matters of the heart. However, we must be willing to give our hearts completely. Surrender all of the heartache and disappointments; laying them at His feet. And do what is most difficult for many: let go. Yes. Let go and let God. Let the love of God wash over you and cleanse your heart and heartache.
It's all about the love. The cleansing and powerful love of God that can bring healing to our wounded hearts and soul.
Beloveds, do not let your past or people from your past that have hurt and disappointed you rob you of the love that waits for you today. Do not forgo your happiness and a life of love because you cannot forget, forgive or let go. Move on! Release the past. Forgive. Forget who they were and remember who you are: a chosen vessel worthy of unconditional and powerful love.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that you are strengthened by the love and power of God in your lives today. Allow the love of God to bring healing and renewed strength to your heart and soul. Let the blood of Jesus heal and bind the wounds that have left you feeling bereft. Open your heart to the Father, and let Him guard it for you. You are blessed and loved wholly and completely. Now go…be a blessing!

"You Still Win"

Reflections4Life February 1, 2015
“You Still Win!”
“He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21
Scripture Contemplation: John 10; 16; Romans 12; 1 John 2; 5; Revelation 2…

I hope this Sunday finds you full of hope and determination. That, no matter what you face, what happens throughout the course of a day, week or year, that you will see yourself as victorious. Because the truth of the matter is, you still win. You made it to a brand new day. You are alive and can start again. So, you are the winner, no matter what.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Allow Holy Spirit to rest in you. To remind you, that you are a winner. Let the comforter have Hos place in your heart and lead you to a place of rest each and every day.

We go through things in this life; things we cannot explain. There is no rhyme or reason to some of the obstacles we face. Or, the disappointments and disasters. Yet, here we are, in a brand new day. Triumphant because the enemy did not win in taking us out yesterday.

It's no secret that enemy wants to destroy us. He desires to kill, steal, and destroy. And not just physically. No. He desires to kill our spirit, our dreams, and our hope. He wants to destroy our faith in God and in humanity. However, God has already declared us the winner. We just have to remember this fact when we are hit with unexpected and difficult and heart-wrenching situations.

The last thing I want to do today is write because I am in so much pain. I had an accident yesterday. The whole right side of my body is bruised from the shoulder down. I can barely move. I am stiff and my wrists are aching. I had plans this week. Long, laid plans. And my heart is aching right now. I am hurting emotionally, as well as physically. But you know what? I still win. Because I am alive. Though I may be in pain, and two years of waiting for something was taken away in an instant; I will thank God in spite of. Because the enemy did not win. I did. Even with the excruciating pain...I still win. I am alive. And I will heal. And God will restore.

So, no matter what you're facing. No matter how much the enemy tries to intimidate you; remember that as long as you have breath in your body, YOU STILL WIN. God has declared us the winner. We just have to hold on to that and not let go. Be strong. Be brave. Be committed. Be confident in God, and in the knowledge and wisdom that God cannot lie. Trust Him.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that you are strengthened by the love and power of God in your lives today. Remember: Jesus came that we might have life more abundantly. That, we would have the assurance of life eternally. Regardless to what you face, or are currently facing—know in your heart and mind that you have already won. God said so. And that’s enough for me. You are Blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing!

"After The Storm"

Reflections4Life January 25th, 2015
“After The Storm.”
“And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?” Matthew 16:3
Scripture Contemplation: Matthew 8; Luke 8; 1 Peter 5; Acts 27…
During a storm, we are doing all we can to make it through. Our concentration is on safety and making sure that we and those we love survive. We know that there may be damage, but we're not certain to what degree. In the storm, our vision is obscured. However, after the storm when everything is still and you and your loved ones made it through, the Sun shines brightly, leaving nothing hidden. As if to spotlight all the debris that needs to be cleared away.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. There will be much to see after a storm passes. Put your trust in God, and let Him direct your paths. Storms do come to an end. Trust God to help you navigate in the wake of the storm. For He knows exactly what you should do.

After the storm, we will find that some things are unsalvageable. It cannot be repaired or saved. There are things that are completely destroyed, that you have no other choice than to walk away from and start all over. Yet, so many of us try in vain to hold on to those broken things that we should have long let go of. We waste time trying to fix things that God says is not for us to fix.

The storms in our lives can sometimes seem like they will never end. Yet, during these storms we come to know and understand what is truly important to us. We do learn during the storms, just who we are. We learn our character and the character and disposition of others. When the storm is over, and the light is shining brightly, it will be evident what we need to do. But the question will always be: will we listen? Will we do what we need to do?

Most of us will salvage what we can. Fix what can be fixed. However, some things will not make it through. Some things and some people we will have to let go of. Not every relationship makes it through the storm. Everyone does not come through the storm the same way. And this, my Beloveds, is one of the hardest things to face. Acknowledging the change and the need to move forward and let some things and people go.

Many believe they are not strong enough. They wonder what they will do if another storm comes along. How will they survive? How will they get through it on their own? Yet, what most do not comprehend is that it is through these storms that we gain the strength that enables us to handle what God shines the light on. We will see clearly and know with certainty what needs to be done.
The hardest part, many will find, is not the storm itself, but what comes after the storm. It is often the hardest thing to do—to let go and move forward after a storm. There are remnants of what used to be; reminding of us of times past when things were good. Some will get caught up in the memory of what was to evade what is right now, because it is often painful to see the destruction and brokenness that is front of us. And easy to forget how the storms arose in the first place.
The decisions we have to make, as a result, may hurt, but it is necessary to us moving forward. Fix what can be fixed. Salvage what can be salvaged. And move on from that which cannot be either. Starting over may be scary, but it's the healthiest and wisest thing to do; especially when God has already shown you what to do.

There is life after the storm. It may be different. There may be adjustments, but God is with us through them all. The storm can actually be a blessing in disguise. There are things we may have been avoiding and purposely not seeing. Once a storm hits, there is no more hiding or evading. And after the storm, just as the sun shines brightly; what we have been avoiding will become abundantly clear.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that you are strengthened by the love and power of God in your lives today. That, His word, and promise is a balm to your wounded and weary souls. Remember: The storms come to make you strong; to make you aware of who you are and who those are around you. Pay attention and heed the voice of God. After the storm, there will be peace. Follow the instructions of God as He tells you how to navigate. You are Blessed. Now go…Be a Blessing!

"Stand on Your Truth"

Reflections4Life January 18th, 2015
Stand on Your Truth”
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
Scripture Contemplation:1 Samuel 12:24; Psalm 15; 25; 51; James 1; 3 John 1...

Many of us live our lives in between what we believe and the opinion of others. We give a lot of our power and self-worth to those who truly do not know us or understand us; trying to please people who are not even living their own truth or have the conviction to stand on their truth.
Stand on your truth. Be confident in who you are and what you believe. Be boldly right or boldly wrong. But never be wishy-washy concerning what's in your heart.
I pray today’s Reflections brings comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Stand on your truth daily. Seek the Lord, be intimate with Him, so that you can learn the truth of what's in your own heart. To know God, you know yourself. The self that He has ordained before realms of time.
Trying to please others is a full-time job that doesn't leave you much time to be yourself. God is our only judge. And He knows the secrets of our hearts. There is so much He desires for our lives, if we would have the courage to say what it is we really want, and not what we think He or anyone else wants us to say. We live in fear. Fear of what others say or think. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of being rejected. Fear of being alone.
Fear immobilizes us. It keeps us trapped in a perpetual cycle of lies. Living life, not for ourselves, but for others. Then one morning we awake to the truth that we do not recognize ourselves any longer. Our hopes and dreams long forgotten, and our lives a pale comparison of what it once was. That is not living. That is just existing. But existing for what?
Beloved, what is your truth today? What truth have you buried or forgotten? What truth have you pushed to the side so that someone else may live their lives? What about you? What about your hopes and dreams? What about your life and where God desires to take you? We cannot live the whole truth of the manifest blessings that God has ordained for our lives, if we cannot find the strength and courage to stand on our own truth, and express what it is that we desire in the sincerest parts of our hearts.
Psalm 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
What's in you, Beloved? What truth(s) have been overlooked, buried, forgotten, and laid aside? We can only lie to ourselves for so long. And We can never lie to the Father. The truth is always seeking to come forth in all that we do and say. The truth will never be denied its payment. It shows up whether we are ready for it or not; sometimes in unexpected ways. And until we confront the truth, tell the truth and live our truth—we will always live a stagnated life, that is far less than what God has ordained for us.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that the spirit of truth inhabits your heart and soul, and the life God has ordained for you, become a reality. Be truthful with yourself. Stand boldly on your truth. Live authentically. Because at the end of the day, you have no one else to blame for the choices you've made. Yours is the only reflection in your mirror of truth. You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

"Reflect Upon God's Goodness"

Reflections4Life January 11th, 2015
“Reflect upon God’s Goodness”
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8
Scripture Contemplation: Psalm 81; Isaiah 63; Philippians 4…
There is so much happening in our lives, in this world, that we can become overwhelmed, bogged down, and distracted that we forget about the good things in our lives; to reflect upon God's goodness. It's fairly easy to get caught up in a spirit of complaint and to become jaded and pessimistic about life. It is quite understandable, considering the world we live in and if you watch the news at all. It is far and few between to see a story about that which is good and uplifting.
I pray today’s Reflections bring comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Make a determined effort to set time aside and reflect upon the goodness of our Father. Take a few moments each day and meditate on the things of God, allowing God space to rest in your heart and mind.
We need to steal away and give ourselves some quiet time to reflect; to reflect upon the blessings of our life. Whether it's one thing or a 100—take a moment to reflect, give thanks, and think on the goodness of God. Sure, there is always something we can complain about. But it is more prudent, wise, and healthy to find and reflect upon that which is good. When we think on those things...those good things, it does a wonder for our soul and spirit, our disposition.
We give this world enough of our time and mental space as it is. It would be a shame to give it our heart and the essence of who we truly are. That privilege belongs to God. Yet, it seems much easier for us to open our mouths to complain rather than praise. Yes, sometimes our problems are front and center, and we can be blinded by what is continually before us. That is why we must learn to consciously and purposefully take time out that is dedicated to centering our hearts and minds on the goodness of God; on those things in our lives that we can be thankful for.
A few years ago, someone I know, told me about a gratitude journal that they started to keep. Each night before they went to sleep, they would write down at least one thing they were grateful for that day. Sometimes it was one thing, other times a few things. But what she found is, that in her consistency to keep the gratitude journal, throughout the day she became more aware of the good things, so that she would have more to write down in her journal. It caused her to shift her focus from that which was wrong and displeasing, to that which was good and going right in her life. Whether it was the blessing of waking up, having a job or the simple pleasure and surprise of someone buying her a cup of coffee when she had no spare change.
I often speak about perception and how it determines our reality. I am of the firm belief that however we perceive things, will determine our reality. If we continue to perceive our lives and the situations that occur in them with the eyes of negativity, then our reality will only reflect that perception; a life filled with negativity, because that is all we would be able to see. Yet, if our perception was peppered with a spirit of hope and belief in the goodness of God, and we were of the persuasion that all things truly do work out for our good (Romans 8:28); then our reality would be one of hope and faith; even in the midst of disappointments and the negativity of the world we live in.
It is a conscious effort we must take in our daily life to reflect upon God’s goodness. To see the good in our lives amongst the bad. To be able to shine in the midst of darkness. To hope in the midst of sorrow. To laugh in the throes of mourning. To maintain faith in the face of adversity. We must determine to set apart the time, choosing at least one thing to think upon and thank God for, while pushing down the flesh’s natural inclination to pick at a scab and to harp on the negative things alone.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree that the reality of God’s love for you will overshadow the perceptions of negativity that can exist within your life. Take the time to count your blessings and not the problems. Reflect upon God's goodness and His love for you. Be still and let the Father love you. You are blessed. Now go…and Be a Blessing.

"Don't Let Go of Love"

Reflections4Life January 4, 2015
“Don’t Let Go of Love”
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18
Scripture Contemplation: Song of Solomon; 1 John 4; 1 John 5…
Happy New Year! Praise God for another year of life and opportunities. I pray that this year you will be filled with much joy and happiness. May you walk in health, peace and into the greatness that God has called you to. And whatever you do—don’t let go of love. Don’t let go of God.
I pray today’s Reflections bring comfort and peace to your heart and mind. I decree it be a continued source of encouragement and inspiration for your heart, mind, and soul. Let the love of God fill your soul with every breath you take. Let the Father lead you where you cannot trace Him. Allow Him to fill the cup of your heart until it is overflowing with love.
I certainly pray that this year is one that brings you to a place of courage and strength and confidence when it comes to love; especially the love of God. This past week, a couple of friends of mine got engage. From the outside, many people would probably think it was typical. A typical New Year’s Eve thing that happens to many couples. However, if you knew my friend’s story, then you would know that there was far more to be celebrated than just an engagement.
Often times we can be living our lives and things seem to be going well. They appear to be going according to plans we have in our minds. Then life happens. Unpredictable, take you by surprise, crush your soul, take your breath, life happens. And everything you thought you knew is now questionable. Everything you once believed is now suspect. Yet, God remains the same through it all.
I shared a glimpse into my past and my friendships on yesterday that I very rarely share. I was inspired and compelled to open up about some things that I had experienced. But, in order to share that story, I had to have the blessing of my dear friend. Because it is just as much his story as mine. He gave me his full support.
Long story short; tragedy came and wreaked havoc in our lives. My friend lost a love so deep and so strong, he entered the darkest nights and years of his life; not knowing if he would ever come out of it. For him, there was no more trusting in love. There was to be no more love for him. His heart was shattered and there was no way it was going to be the same ever again. His relationship with God? Over. How could he believe in a God that would allow such heartache to him and his daughter? But now He understands that God was there all along. And that love—true, sincere, unconditional love was there; healing him, his heart and mind. And preparing him for a second chance at what he’d thought he’d lost forever.
His story is not necessarily unique. I am quite sure you have a similar story. I know I do. How can we not? Loss, grief, mourning—it’s all a part of life. Just as much as happiness, joy, and peace are.
How many times in our lives have we been hurt and disappointed, believing that we would never recover. That, the pain and ache would never go away? Too many times to count. Yet, through it all, it is love that keeps us. It is love that drives us and holds us and compels us to move forward and try again.
Love is powerful. Love is strong. Love is God. Whether we recognize it or not, love is all around us waiting to be embraced, acknowledged, and accepted. There are just many of us who cannot see past the pain and despair. We’d rather hold onto anger and bitterness and blame God for all of our wrongs. The truth of the matter is, God is the answer to the hole in our hearts; to the healing that needs to take place. It is God. He is love. And we must never let go of love. No matter what.
Life can be difficult. Hitting us with unexpected situations and heartaches that we may feel we will never recover from. But life is a journey meant to be lived, with opportunities for love—true, unconditional love to be recognized, accepted, felt, and experienced.
Tragedies and loss of loved ones will occur. Yet we must learn to embrace the love we had, the love we shared, and the love that waits for us. We can’t give up on life or love. Because the truth is, it’s the only thing that keeps us human and connected to spirit. It is our saving grace.
My Beloveds, may the spirit of peace and prosperity find permanent rest in your lives. I decree the love of God saturate every area of your lives, filling you until love is overflowing. May you be desperate for God; for His word, for His love, for His presence. Don’t let go of love. Don’t let go of God. You can and will make it through, for God is with you. You are so blessed. Believe it. Walk in it. And share it. Now go…be a blessing.
